  my lovely wife warned me from the upper floor: close the windows, brother x is at the front door.

  so, there they are again, for their required visit before the memorial.

  i don't like it, you never hear from them, only in the week before the memorial.

  i saw from various social media the the witnesses are holding parties to  make memorial bread.

  They promissed us a paradise that never came. This book was a good marketing choice after the 1975 debacle. So they presented us this candy box. And now it is even not in jw library anymore.

  returned full bearded, which drew censure from a district overseer: “peter, you can’t witness door-to-door with a beard”.

  bewildered, i asked for an explanation.

  What TV shows were forbidden in your JW household?

  in the u.s., three's company was not allowed.

  it was explained to me that it was an immoral show because a man and women lived together and no one was married.

  the sister who gave this observation was a family friend and we were newbies to the religion.. at least i somehow managed to watch the benny hill show undetected..

  It took a long time before we got a color TV, in my youth years we had a small b/w Zanussi micro TV.

  I remember my father forbid me to watch Billy Joels Goodnight Saigon music video and of course the popular Dutch youth TV serie about the Wizzard Tita Tovenaar.

  For me then a big issue, now in reprospective it is a minor issue.
