i was walking out of the store and i passed a former jw associate of 20+ years.
"keith"he was an elder, got df'd, lost his wife, got reinstated and last i heard started pioneering!so i see him as i'm walking to my parking spot.. i stop, look him straight in the face and yell from 20 feet away, "you're in a cult.
you're in a cult, dude!".
Maybe you can work on your style.
"Sorry for the inconvenience I will cause you, but it seems that I have a serious problem with the complicated religion you are part of. So i'm wondering if you could spare some time to have a conversation about it."

i noticed a young brother with a beard being given more privelages within our hall.
when he first grew his beard, he lost his privelages.
but more and more recently he has been helping out a lot more.. the cobe is old school and a stickler for rules, but with the hall becoming more empty these days, and the need for young brothers, he seems to have relaxed on this particular watchtower/man made rule.
In Holland much is allowed. Extreme clothing, shorts, all kind of beards etc, if AMIII would set his feet on the low lands he would explode 😂😂😂

so i recently moved back to my really really really small hometown in the south.
it was the place that my parents moved to from a major city up north in the early 1970's.
when we lived here times were very tough financially and i was always told that the reason we did not attend meetings was due to the fact that we had no car / no gas for the car / could not afford repairs for the years we were there.
G. parents waited for an other child after 1975 and got my brother in 1977, with a chromosome defect. Recently I tried to comfort them "you have done your best" they replied "it seems it doesn't matter, because their will be no reward".
This year, they seems depressed, because of their expetations not coming true.

" will be given before the memorial next year which is very new.
also new this year is that the special talk will be prerecorded and given by a branch committee member rather than a brother from the local congregation.

(boy, they weren’t kidding when they spoke about being long-suffering and having endurance!).
but what were some of your convention highlights, or lowlights, from back in the day?.
When G. was a litle boy, he read a lot about the nazi mass conventions and using mass media. So I always had a fear for the DC and it's applaus machinery.
Always knew that this was not right and feeled uncomfortable with it.
The music etc I did not like it.

i'm an active elder, cobe, just got home from the meeting where i handled the treasures part and concluded by announcing a friend of mine has been d/f,.....blah blah blah...and over the last year have woken up.
i simply cannot spill my guts to my wife and children as it would be family suicide.
i have zero desire to bash, spread my feelings, or become an "apostate".

I remember myself in the same situation. Every DNA string in my body was hurt. On the platform I looked into the eyes of the congo.
Best feeling was my last part I did on the platform. I knew it would be my last and they didn't. It set me free and never walked better to my chair with the feeling "this was it".
Faded away in 7 years.

when i do see her, it is brief, she never asks about my life, doesn't ask about my 4 children her grandchildren, doesn't ask about my grandchildren...her great grandchildren, she doesn't ask about my other 2 brothers that she is also alienated from, she doesn't ask about my brothers family.
she doesn't talk about the jw/org either.
The 3 days supply was mentioned recent to me during a family meal. I answered loud "that reminds me of 1975, when they said Armageddon was coming. My parent had bought rice in a volume for years and all what came were mouse".
Everybody quiet... I was the party crasher
