The Happyness book.
They published it in the dark early eighties. Made no one happy.
Remembering the elders made a huge copy of the book; an enourmous golden book stand on the platform. That made some impression, G. was 10 years old.
Makes me sad thinking about all these books. Once studied they lost their value.

i dont know if it was the same for you, but for me when i was a jw meeting days seemed to have a black cloud hanging over them.
on thursdays i knew i would be going to the meeting that evening.
that i would be getting into my meeting clothes at 6:30pm, leaving the house at 6:55pm and be sat in the kingdom hall from 7:15pm-9pm, then milling around for about half an hour before finally getting home for 10pm.
Yep, remember the feeling, even more when I had an assignment at the meeting. A few evenings preperation.
Never missed this any moment.
Remembering my last assignment at the service meeting, leaving the platform knowing it was my last time there. Never felt better in my life!

i remember getting my ass beat .
in 1987 / 1988 for listening to atlantic star.
they had a song called always.. my mother sat me down anmd told me listening to music like that would just rile up my emotions and make me look for a girl to fornicate with.. like at the age of 10 i was going to take it to that level.. my mother later banned r and b from our home.... i find it all hilarious now, but a friend of mine actually sent me a link to the jw broadcast and said i had to watch this.. i told him there was no way, but he said just start at the 50:40 mark.. i do not believe that this is what the org is doing now???.
The more mainstream approach is not bad. They forget to change some fundamental issues.

jw father in law in hospital, this weekend, maybe last days of his life.
with his last energy he was reading a watchtower magazine for comfort.

Then he is too tired and puts the magazine away. I take it to arrange his hospital desk.
And then, I feel the magazine is heavy like a feather, has not more then 10 pages like a postal stamp.
It made me think things are not up in JW country anymore.
Such a thin magazine makes a JW think, is it??

- feeling annointed because of former believe.
- psychical reasons.
The elder said during the memorial “with growing JW numbers it would not be a surprise that the annointed number is growing. There could be a correlation between it”.

Because it was an Amsterdam congregation, it could be a liberal suggestion. The Dutch are not known for their strictness and loyality. We like to think on our own.
A recent CO told our congregation that Dutch witness make a cost / benefit calculation and are thinking “what’s in it for me” first.

so lloyd evans will shortly be releasing his new book how to leave the jehovah's witnesses.
i do enjoy his rebuttals and the stuff he manages to get hold of and leak.
but i'm struggling to understand what he could possibly write to merit a whole book.. all info on how to leave is right here on this forum.
He has the right to do what he wants. If he wants to publish 25 books, so what? Let him go.
