by Gorbatchov ingorby has been offline from jwd for some weeks, and it made my situation not better, have had some serious problems with the fading, much pressure, i have nothing new to say, it must be very similar to the situation of many faders here.. so, i had so much pressure, that we have had to change our holiday booking so we are able to visit the convention, due to family reasons, you all know what i mean.. please wish me (and us) much luck for this summer.
it is not my best summer season in life.. this is how i feel:.

There is a lot pressure from the wider family that has a lot of influence in our house. Because it is a special international convention with a lot of activity around it, the last convention in a stadium before it is centralized into a JW convention hall, because we didn't attend last year, because the end is so near.
For one or another reason the atmosphere here has changed to serious.

by Gorbatchov inmy eyes for ttatt opened in 1995 with the generation change and the wt magazine stated "some witness thought that the generation started in 1914".
since 1997, with internet at low speed, i followed h2o hourglass, www.xjw.com and later on www.jehovahs-witness.net.. did a bachelor and post bachelor since then.. now, nearly completed with fading, i feel it's time to go on with my life and do some other things, spending more time with my wife abd children instead of thinking about jw topics in my head.
goal is being a better person and less grumpy at 45.... everything what could be said is already said.

Friends, thanks for your warm reply. I will come back from time to time and let you know how things are. If there is some greater news from Holland I let you know.
All I want for now is some rest and more focus on my direct family. Life is too short. So no more daily JWD etc. for me. Distance from the subject to grow further.

New Anti Gay Cartoon Video not available in German
by Daniel1555 inthe lesson 22 video or better called anti gay video went viral.. there is another thread that main dutch media covered it in their articles.. i wanted to write to one of the biggest swiss newspapers about it.
that newspaper also covered the controversy about the "meeting" cartoon, where the message is made that if jw children don't listen at the meetings they might get killed finally.. then i realized that it is not available in german.. it is available in so many other languages, like guarani (never heard of that language), but german is missing.. are they afraid to offer it in german?
do they expect too much controversy in germany?.

That's what it is. The debit card payment at conventions is original a Dutch idea (one of the CO's). They introduced it without permission from Brooklyn and removed the terminals. 1 or 2 year later jw.org introduced it worldwide.
Sometimes I like the own look and feel here. But not to much, we are fading now since 2007.

Thanks Anders Andersen for your classification of the Dutch.
I think they are not that bad at all. They are and have always been "preacher and merchant", a good balance.
The Dutch JW are known for not following rules to strict. Many have contact with excommunicated JW's.
That's not a real problem overhere. Paying taxes is also not their main concern. Using illegal software and Popcorn Time, most JW do.
I think that's different with US JW's.

JW anti-gay children movie viral in Netherlands national media + official reaction of JW spokesman Branch office

and gay, lesbian, transgender and bisexual organizations are shocked, and some gay people.
are reporting the movie to the local police.. the official spokesman of the dutch branch office in emmen declared that the movie is.

Even JW's in the Netherlands are aware that gay people are equal. There are here some gay brothers, walking at the conventions with lady style bag's. The great escape is that they are gay, but don't practice it. That is allowed here and accepted by the local JW's.
Most JW's here know that it is not so smart to publish this kind of movies. It will have some internal impact here also for the society. It feels so wrong.
That's the different with JW's in country's like the US. Dutch JW's see their religion more like a lifestyle.
