Here an example about the hard stand on shunning, in real life, an Interview in a Dutch newspaper.

The JW father, in real life a man with a very good management job at KLM airways in Amsterdam, tells that his believe is always above the relation with his children. "Jehovah is above everything, even you children", free translated.

See the lovely picture, knowing it means nothing to him when the organizational believe is at stake.

I don't believe there is a major change on the horizon. The article is a triumph story about the GB. Holy Spirit, Angel help, God's approval etc. I think it is a clarification to the rank and file to set thinks straight about the past and not about the future!

This is the propaganda for the world wide rank and file. How do you tell the poor part of the flock (Africa, South America, Asia) that you move into a new headquarter, just before the end of the world?

There is in the JW world no room for rational communication: we have to cut on finances, have a new strategy, new property management etcetera etcetera. No, there has to be a "heavenly" sauce on it, a halo light.

JW's don't mention this. Normal people get an internal alarm signal hearing this kind of propaganda.

It has some funny side also.

Hi Anders,

I attended the semi live streaming at the local kingdom hall. Not the dedication at Saturday but the Sunday session. Also with David Splane.

I have to say, he did a nice job. Not the "theology" man from Broadcasting. He was quit, humble and made uplifting comments.

It was a long time ago Gorby went home from a Kingdom Hall with some biblical points to think about.

And that's not bad at all, for a christian, isn't it?

They told the minimalistic design of the new hall will be the new standard worldwide.

recent i had a conversation with an old jw friend.

he told me his mother rejected a blood transfusion in a critical fase, and survived it, and of course it's good to hear that she makes it good now.. what me triggered, was a remark he made about what the elder of the hospital committee told him.. this elder praised the mother of my old friend because of rejecting the transfusion.

the elder told them that most jehovah's witness in the netherlands take a blood transfusion when their life is at stake.

So, my observation is that although the doctrine is still there, most witnesses in more "individual" cultures like here in Holland choose to make their own decision.
