New JWStruggle Video - "INDEPENDENCE- Subtle Trap of Satan?"
by RayPublisher inyes the wt has been warning us about this evil, insidious way of thinking for many years.
it has been described as a form of haughtiness, a form of pride, a subtle form of satanic propaganda.
oh my that sounds pretty scary... .

Good Job! Nicely done and well thought out. Im a lifer but have never witnessed the "mind control" language that has permeated magazines, talks, assemblies in recent times. Its depressing.
I believe this will have some devastating fallout shortly, people getting disheartened by the message. Years ago meetings and literature was about prophecy, basic Bible teachings and Jesus.
Now its about our attitudes towards things, guilt inducing subjects that cant be avoided, and fear mongering threats if you disobey and black and white Old Testament thinking.
Even the Jeremiah book is not about his prophecies now....its about his ATTITUDE. One conductor in our hall emphasized "STRICT" obedience during the whole Bible study....sheesh.
I'll be looking for more of your stuff.

How long did Jesus shun Peter for denying him 3 times?
by Terry inthe answer is, of course, that jesus did not shun peter.. jesus expected human weakness to reveal itself.
(matt 26:34 jesus said unto him...before the rooster crows, thou shalt deny me three times.).
jesus did not judge people for their weakness.

Terry.....nice post. You speak for countless ones who cant speak for themselves. Hopefully, one day this disgraceful policy will be modified to conform to the biblical format for which it was intended.

What's a really good movie you'd recommend that most people probably haven't seen?
by A.Fenderson inwhat's a really good movie you'd recommend that most people probably haven't seen?.
my personal recommendation: synecdoche, new york.
it's one of those movies that words fail utterly to capture--which really is the hallmark of a good movie, i suppose.

Here's 2.
1. 40 yr old virgin. i didnt want to watch this for a long time because I thought the subject manner was juvenile and I'm not into sex movies. But I saw a glimpse of it from another room and it was funny so I decided to watch it. Couldnt stop laughing. 2nd funniest movie I've ever seen
2. The Full Monty- the funniest movie I've ever seen. Falling off the couch funny. Once you get into the British terms and comedy, it's hilarious. Caution.... you need to know some soccer terminology. I hate soccer so I had to have someone translate. OMG Laugh out loud every time.

Is GOP Serious on Repealing The Healthcare Law? Here Is A Warning Message
by Scott77 inhealthcare law repeal hurts deficits: cbo10:50am estby richard cowan.
washington (reuters) - an effort by republicans in the house of representatives to repeal the healthcare law enacted last year would add to already huge federal budget deficits, the congressional budget office warned on thursday.. in a preliminary estimate of legislation the house is set to begin debating on friday, the cbo said repealing the law that president barack obama and his fellow democrats enacted would "increase federal budget deficits over the 2012-2019 period by a total of roughly $145 billion.
" it said that figure would rise to $230 billion by 2021.. the cbo also said repeal would result in 32 million fewer people having health insurance.. the nonpartisan cbo analyzes legislation for its impact on government spending and revenues and develops forecasts of economic performance.. republicans won majority control of the house last november after campaigning on promises to slash the deficit, now at around $1.3 trillion.. during the 2010 campaigns for congress, republicans also said they would repeal the healthcare law, saying it places too many job-killing burdens on business and is unconstitutional because it requires individuals to purchase health insurance if they are not already covered.. democrats still hold a majority, although narrower than last year, in the senate, where any healthcare repeal bill is expected to be blocked.. on friday, newly installed house speaker john boehner plans to begin debate on republican legislation to repeal the healthcare law, which aimed to reduce medical costs and insure millions of people who currently can't afford coverage.. the law also prevents insurance companies from refusing to cover patients with pre-existing conditions.. house republican leaders have dismissed cbo's forecasts that the healthcare law would reduce u.s. budget deficits, saying there were too many unrealistic assumptions in such forecasts.. a house committee began meeting on thursday to put together rules governing the house floor debate of the healthcare law.

It goes back to what I said about Health Insurance Reform vs. Healthcare Reform
Look, if inflation goes up 10% and the cost of healthcare goes up 10%, that's a 20% increase in costs. But insurance companies are forbidden to raise rates more than 10%.
Why doesnt the government mandate the cost of inflation or the cost of healthcare? Nope, they just mandate what insurance companies can do.
The general public likes the sound of it because the general public thinks insurance companies have unlimited funds and they are evil.
It's health insurance reform, plain and simple.

Unity and Jehovah's Witnesses
by stuckinamovement infaithful people will tell you that unity worldwide is one of the identifying marks of the true religion.
jehovahs witnesses will especially point to the unity of belief no matter where you go as proof that they are gods organization.
as i sat listening to the service meeting part last night about our unified organization it hit me........... the largest group of unified people is within an army.

Motivation for remaining in the Army is fear of a commanding officer. It is the antithesis of how the Christian Congregation was portrayed in the Bible.
Love was the motivating factor. The scriptural model for theocratic organization was a FAMILY, not an Army.
The worldwide "brotherhood" is a myth. It doesnt exist as pointed out by previous posts.
