  In the April WT about "generations" it's interesting how the mind control is worded.

  "Are you keeping up with new light"? Then it gives a list of changes made throughout history to see if you remember. Most of these things I couldnt remember because they werent worth remembering. The message is "if you dont remember, then its YOUR fault you stupid dumbass!

  So when we f/u and make a changes in our understanding of "generation" you better hurry up and believe it or you will still be stupid.

  What I hate most about missing the meetings...

  ...is when people ask why i wasn't there.

  usually i tell them, that i was sick, or not feeling well, which for the most part is true.

  what is irritating is when someone presses it, especially someone you are closer with in the congregation.

  Ah, yes we are trained to be judgemental. If we notice people missing meetings and we are trained that you shouldnt miss meetings, then we feel superior to those missing meetings.

  Then, we feel justified in inquiring as to their whereabouts so we can feel more superior if their answers dont measure up. We do that subtly with "we missed you". This is designed to elicit an explaination. It really means "where were you"? Since there is no valid reason for missing meetings, any explaination is invalidated.

  I don't owe ANYONE an explaination...

  ...about why i do not want to come back (get reinstated), but i find myself defending my decision!.

  i say this because an old friend of mine sent me a text late last night, asking me if i'm 'back so we can talk'?!

  let me give you a lil background story, this girl is developmentally challenged, 36yrs old, can't hold down a job, drive, nor live alone.

  You're right. You dont owe anyone an explaination.

  But think about.......as already mentioned, JW are set up because there is no valid reason to leave the "truth". Therefore any explaination will be met by JW arguments. Therefore your explaination will be shot down. So ANY explaination will invalidated. So why give one?

  Also, JW are set up in that any deviation from the "truth" is labeled in the following terms ... "leaving" "fell away" "drifted awy" "stumbled". All of these terms are used to shift the blame on the one who no longer wants to be a JW. They brand you with guilt. Not fair! Especially if you were forced out.

  The problem is, there are no terms for that. Just make your own term. But dont expect JW to recognize them. They will be puzzled because they have been trained to only accept their terms.

  it said that males who ejaculated more than six times a week in their teens to late 20s were less likely to get prostate cancer.

  godalmighty - does this mean that being good boys now puts us at risk??.

  At a 2 day assembly ...the point that the brother spoke about that drove me mad....."don't hug your husband, wife or child during prayer".

  i attended one day of a two day assembly and did ok until the very last talk.

  the brother was from bethal and well jw's pay closer attention to their talks, cause that is when some new info is given,,,right.

  well anyways i lost focus and began to daydream, cause it became one of those talks that just talks about wasting time.

  Ok, I admit that I've had a problem with all the touchy feely at the KH. For instance, there's one sister (just One mind you) that proceeds to give her husband the biggest longest sensuous back rub halfway through the meeting.

  She runs her fingers thru his hair and uses her nails too in long slow sweeping strokes.

  Sitting behind her, without my wife, I can only sit and wonder....... Does this guy have a raging boner? It also brings to mind that I am all alone. Just what I want to think about.

  When shes done with him, she starts on her strapping 17 yr old son sitting on the other side.

  In fairness, I believe that this sister is sadly oblivious to what she doing and to those around her, and would be horrified to know the effect her actions have on those sitting behind her.

  I was going to speak with one of the elders about it but didn't because I'm not confident in how they would handle the situation. I fear they would have a local needs part and scold the entire congregation for the actions of one person.

  But now I'm horrified at this nonsense about the ban of hugging during prayer.

  I can see how some may have gotten out of hand with husband and wives in a love embrace and entire rows of people holding hands during prayer. But I haven't seen that kind of issues on a grand scale. Couldn't they be just handled locally? Must it be a worldwide ban?

  Just like the sister above.... a few kinds words privately to let her know how her actions might affect those sitting behind her I'm sure would suffice.

  But, no......they would probably have a 15 minute local needs part and scold the entire congregation.

  Memorial 2010 Your Experiences

  just got back from memorial.

  only went so that i could say to my parents that i had gone and to remind myself why i left.. oh my word!!!

  it was sooooo painful.. got there a bit late - it was a couple of minutes into the talk.

  the 100th monkeythe japanese monkey, macaca fuscata, had been observed in the wild for a period of over 30 years.. in 1952, on the island of koshima, scientists were providing monkeys with sweet potatoes dropped in the sand.

  the monkey liked the taste of the raw sweet potatoes, but they found the dirt unpleasant.. an 18-month-old female named imo found she could solve the problem by washing the potatoes in a nearby stream.

  she taught this trick to her mother.

  2010 "Remain Close to Jehovah" Talks

  my guesses for releases this year will be an update creation book and a book on jeremiah.

  two books were released as recently as 2008 so i don't think this would be out of the question.. friday.
