  Not all JWs are paedophiles!

  i read some reports (infact the majority) and they seem to imply all jws are paedophiles!

  seldom do they draw the distinction between the majority (who are not peds) and the few who are.

  perhaps we need to be more balanced when we comment on these things...dont cha think?.

  I'm really holding back from giving you a well-deserved blast, because there are so many people here - myself included - who were not believed and were basically told to shut up about what happened to them. Your attitude is just as invalidating.

  Good grief, blast away woman! I despise pedophiles, my niece was sexually abused and not believed, so I know first hand what it can do. Don't come to me with your "you don't understand" stuff.

  Now, this is where I come from, where I always come from: Truth is better than hyperbole. In my opinion, to tell abuse survivors that there is a list of names at Bethel and if only Bethel would release those names to the publishers things would be a lot better is chicken ca-ca. You must know that they would be unable to release the names to the public as you suggest they should. This is playing a game nothing more. A get the Tower and the hell with anything else stupid game. A game that plays with people's emotions.

  I'll be damned if I ever tell my niece, "Hon, if only the Tower would have the elders announce the names of accused pedophiles in their area then other little girls would be safer!" I have too much respect for her intelligence and her feelings to suggest something that I know cannot be. They cannot release the names of all accused pedophiles to the public.

  I am not going to discuss this with you any further.

  i am new to the board and have read countless gripes and pokes at "the organization" but i fail to find one interesting question.. in preface... i was disfellowshiped myself over 5 years ago.

  in that time, i had done much searching, visited many churches and faithes.. going to some for as short as one session and some as long as 6 - 8 months.

  after i felt my search was in vein i stopped attempting to go to these shurches all together.. i never forgot how to pray through.

  Why?

  Because others should have their say and be able to express it the way they wish, within reason of course! Big red letters are after all a small thing.

  I think the use of bold and large fonts is at times warranted and even necessary. It expresses emotion, something which we all need to emphasize sometimes in a faceless environment such as this.

  I agree that posting in all caps is annoying but for the most part, large colorful fonts are fun!

  Do you know which of the 6 million JWs worldwide are among the 23,720 child molesters on record at WTS headquarters? Brooklyn knows. The bodies of elders know. Why doesn't Joe and Jane Publisher know so they can keep their kids away from these monsters?

  I do not think all "23,720" are convicted child molesters but alleged child molesters. Do you really think it's right to publish the names of those on the list who may be innocent? Not all accused child molesters are guilty.

  a number of weeks ago, i mentioned how my niece was seeking reinstatement.

  well, after all was said and done, the elders allowed her back in.

  my brother and his wife were giving her a little "coming back" party with about a total of 35 guests.

  IslandWoman... I don't know about other Christians. Personally, I don't presume to try to tell anyone how they should worship God. That sort of arrogance is one of the things I didn't like about the Dubs.

  Missionary work is something many Christians from a variety of denominations participate in or financially support. I was by no means suggesting that you yourself attempt to convert others.

  It does not appear to be God's purpose at this time to have all Christians united in the exact same doctrinal beliefs.

  As far as Paul and his attitude towards legalism... IMHO, that's getting too far off-topic for this thread. If you're serious about wanting to discuss, feel free to post your points in another thread, and I'll reply.

  I was merely attempting to address the points you made in a previous post. I have already said what I wanted to say, therefore no need to drag out this sorry business. The subject is a difficult one not because of lack of evidence but because I too once believed and I remember the love I had for Jesus and Paul. In principle I still do love them but not because of who they claimed to be but for the many beautiful things the NT claims they taught. This is a hard subject for me, one which I truly get no pleasure from.
