It seems so, but did that "new light" result in the forming of the powerful Governing Body arrangement that ultimately put out Ray Franz?

If you mean Ray Franz and the other members of the writing department who advocated the elder arrangement... well, that could be. I can't disprove it.
Are you saying that the Elder arrangement idea (and subsequently the GB authority) may have originated in the Writing Department?

In my opinion the problem with the Elder arrangement is that the responsibility for making bad decisions is diluted. The buck stops with no individual, but instead with a body of men who are not personally held responsible for their actions.
The Governing Body arrangement is the same. All muscle but no head.

After the elder arrangement was put in place in '71, it didn't make a lot of sense to have a single man as head of the organization, so the GB was enlarged and given more powers
That's another stupid thing that has made things worse in the congregations, the elder arrangement. The elder arrangement made it very easy for alot of worthless brothers to get power over the congregation. Too many cooks in kitchen sort of thing, another bad idea by the Society!
So the elder arrangement idea led to the creation of a dictatorial Governing Body? Don't really understand why that should be.

Yes, Brummie, I agree. The Governing Body are murderers. But not just the Governing Body, every brother at Bethel in a position of knowledge and responsibility is also a murderer.

On Yahoo, this site is listed as a Forum for Jehovah's Witnesses, Simon has the right to call his board what he chooses but then again NG should be able to complain about it.
As for whining, we have a famous poster who himself has called many here whiners, but I shall refrain from writing his name lest I call up his spirit.

in my first essay on common fallacies former jehovahs witnesses commit in reference to the society i explained the error of generalizing individual witness behavior to that of the entire society.
