I notice there's no volume control on the "Mens" radio, guess it's set on a default setting.

Open letter to Ciro Aucilino
by belbab indear friend,.
your talk, what the future holds for us, delivered, i believe, to a select audience of jehovahs witnesses; the twenty pages of which i downloaded from the internet, has raised for me some serious questions and since the scriptures exhort us tomake sure of all things i am writing this open letter to you.

Belbab,
Thanks for this thread. I have to say, I have heard many public talks in my Watchtower years but none were so obviously panic stricken and searching for straws to hang onto as this one was.
I actually was a little embarrassed for the brother when my kids heard his talk on Randy's site. It seems that Bethel is searching for something, ANYTHING, to infuse the flock!
It was a sad example of desperation. They must miss Fred Franz and Nathan Knorr! They should start praying to God to bring them back cause if this is their best, I give them 5 years at the most!

Elect Your GB Member Here & Now.
by Englishman inthis is just for fun, but imagine if you will the following scenario.. the gb are dropping like flies and the remainder are desperate to find some replacements before the whole shebang is taken over by non-annointed ones.. news comes in of a middle-aged anointed bro who sounds as if he will fit the bill perfectly.
no-one at brooklyn has met him yet, so they send for him to be interviewed with a view to him sitting on the gb if approved.. on the flight to new york the prospective gb newbie suffers a heart attack, and as he expires he drops his wallet under the seat, the wallet also contains a letter with the details of his forthcoming interview.. by an amazing coincidence, the person sat immediately behind the victim is an active poster from jw discussion.
he spots the wallet, and upon reading its contents he decides that he will impersonate the defunct would-be gb member in the hope of eventually becoming part of the gb himself.

My nomination: CO Daniel Geipel.
He is not a member of this DB but he knows the GB.
The first thing he will change is; flirtatious behavior of the older married men in the congregations toward younger single sisters.

Tallyman,
I know my post was off topic, I clicked on your site for the first time and those pictures of the Twin Towers triggered my response.
Good God! IslandWoman, don't be sorry for expressing an opinion.
LOL, Tallyman if I want to be sorry for expressing an opinion I damn well will be!!Hey, I miss your "K"s! What's the chances of there ever being a SuperApostofest with you, Farkel, Alan, Kent, Norm (I guess[8>]), JanH, etc. I'd like to be there, but I think for safety sake in disguise.

Hi,
I would like to thank everyone for their contributions to this thread. What's so great about this DB is the variety of people and experiences here, it has been a pleasure to get to exchange ideas and even at times spar. It's good! We may not agree all the time but what a great privilege to be able to disagree! After coming from a cookie cutter religion, what freedom! Smells sweet!
Thanks Beck for your kinds words. Alan, I hope you do take that break. Fighting the Org. and defending xJWs all the time is, I think, something like working in a Hospice and a Medical Clinic 24/7. Time maybe to get some fresh air. Your efforts are much appreciated and you have won the respect and love of many.
Thanks again to everyone on this thread.

Pork Chop,
IslandWoman you're a mystery to me.
Each of us has many facets. The IW persona has served to allow me to express different views; sometimes my own and at times those of others. On this thread I am speaking for myself. Thanks for the reply.
Take Care,

Pope,
Hope it works out for you. Don't let the bastards get you down!
THANK YOU!!!!!!!! And you know, each of us have had our own experiences in the Org. so, if you feel different than me that's OK. We are still connected by a unique although sad experience, maybe that makes us still "brothers" in a way.
Please Take Care,

Why love God?
by joelbear inshould we love god and have faith in him because we are afraid of being annihilated if we don't?.
should we love god so we can be paid for it by getting a "mansion in the sky" or everlasting life or some other reward payment?

Beck,
Thanks for the kind words of acknowledgment!
JT,
It is very clear that this poster has done very little research on how High control Groups affect persons
I was speaking from my own experience and from the heart. It that's not good enough JT, well, that's all I got!while I agree that the fact i was constipated last year may have little to do with wt, the entire mindset of a sincere jw is influence in every way
this is why this post while funny and cute really highlights just how the wt has ingrained and programmed the avg jw to think and feel
You have no idea who I am, what my personal experiences in the Watchtower have been, how "ingrained" their teachings were, etc. You don't know what you're saying because you don't know me. Simple, but true.but then again many who were adults were introduced to this poison at very low points in their life many times
JT, you know I am sure, that your characterization is partial. I don't think you need to hear the other side, I think you already know. Sure the poor and disadvantaged are in greater danger of following a false religion; that's why the people of India don't eat cows!!loss of a love one, bad health struck them, money problem, living in a country where warefare has gone on day and night for the last 15yrs, no food, just poor living conditions , folks living in huts iwth dirt floors, etc. and with conditions in ones life such as these, along comes some clean cut person with a BOOK CALLED the bible that many folks have been taught to love and cherish all of thier lives, yet they understood little
and someone shows them God's name and a few other text and , then invite them to a place where folks don't care if you are poor, uneducated, and have nothing and then tell you that YOU ARE SPECIAl
the person is LOVED bOMBED everyone wants to come to your house for your bible study, you are told that you are making progress, something that you have never been told in your life, you are startng to feel like part of a big happy family, your husband stop gettig drunk and now you are doing the will of god as a family , is it hard at times o yes but in the end you are told it will be worth any thing
you make life choices based on the fact that god will hook you up, you are told the david said he never say a righteous one bdg for bread
you too want to be considered a righteuos one and all you have to do is warn folks of the end,I certainly hope that IW never gets lost in SE DC and ask a clean cut person on the street for directions late one night, who decides that they just want to F#%K with someone this night and send her up a one way street and she runs into the "P Street Crew"
JT,i'm sure that some one who reads about her being ganged rape and left for half dead the next day in the paper while they are sipping the "Star Bucks" coffee will say;
"she knew the rules of getting lost in the HOOD"
just mey 2I know SE DC. It ain't no worse than the Bronx me thinks! Please don't try pulling that inner city superiority with me it won't work!
Like I said, you don't know me!
See you around,

Dana,
Thanks for your comments. Yes, we do feel like survivors of abuse. The Watchtower insists on becoming our "everything", so when we leave it feels many times as if we now have nothing.
My sister and her husband are just now starting out on that road. They are very "up" right now, glad to be heading out. I remember that feeling, I hope it lasts longer for them than it did for my kids and I. Solitary confinement in your early twenties, the age of my older children, is hard. No friends, no anything.
The involvement with the Watchtower though has been a valuable lesson in life. They see how easily people can be fooled and misled. They look at people in politics or other arenas of life with a keen eye, aware of the difference between group mentality and individual decision making. It has been a good lesson. In fact, I can honestly say I am happy for the JW experience. The greatest lesson was that even good people can be deceived to the point of committing unkind and hurtful acts towards others, for the sake of religion.
Thanks again,
IW
