if you belong to a religion because your family & friends are there, you try to be a good person, you enjoy the activities you are involved in, but deep down you really believe that there is not only one true religion, does it really matter if you remain in the religion of your family and friends?
realistically speaking, what's the harm?
It seems ok. What happens if someone scrambles your eggs? i.e. Mistreats your friends/family for no good reason? You find out that the religion can be harmful to you and others. Makes people make unrealistic life decisions that have long reaching effects that the people who come up with the stuff would not do themselves? You see hypocrisy i.e. UN..child abuse cover ups? List goes on....still sitting comfortably?

after the wtc tragedy many jehovah's witnesses on the fringes scurried back to mother in case it was the beginning of the big a. one of the watchtower society favorite themes is how incredibly late it is.
it is in fact always later than you think.
the problem is that most of the people, who believe how late it always is, seem to completely lack the ability to do much thinking.
It can work both ways tho Norm...I am not DA'd or DF'd. I was asked by an elder when I migt come back to the meetings. I said sometime real soon. In your lifetime.....haha!

new findings seem to emerge every other month: jehovah's witnesses live longer.

There is something to be said for having a belief..period. It can help you through losses in life etc. It applies to all belief systems IMO...including Catholics etc. It is not just a truth thing.
So far as the WT is concerned...how do those who have lost loved ones because of dodgy doctrinal stuff feel......
ie...transplants, blood , neutrality...much more.

what motivates you to spend so much time discussing jehovah's witnesses?
All of us have been effected by our WTS experience...some more than others. You will find that there are a broad range of views on matters of belief etc.. but all are concerned with truth. Folks are also concerned with those ones who wake up from the dark sleep of WT life to see it for what it is. These ones need support and a place of reason and sanity.

Vitamin dude....you are ok getting a fibre optic tree....because if anyone says anything..you can say its a decorative thing..and the fact it is shaped like a tree is co-incidental. If you get a mormal tree..I think it is more of a problem.

Bgurl....just remember that tree was happy in its field. It died for your temporary pleasure. I think you could do lots of things. Like sticking the needles back on.

Hey....I can pack my tree away for next year....you have to dump yours or summat. I might spray mine with pine needle smell though.
