DA or not DA or continue slipping away ?
by alliwannadoislive infor weeks now, i've been trying to put together a disassociation letter - incidently, it's you lot that have put me up to this - and it's nearing completion but i'm feeling nervous about sending it.
the fast approaching christmas celebration thingymajig is kinda egging me on as i want to blaze christmas lights everywhere and not feel nervous about the possibility of a visit from the po who drops the mags in to me fortnightly (i'm generally 'not in' ... ahem ...).
i would appreciate your for's and against's - to either convince me to go ahead, or to think again and stay the execution ...

i thought that a judicial commitee would give me closure, but now ive read the transcripts of one on that site.

From a belief perspective, if a person undertakes a study of the Bible and makes a genuine attempt to determine Gods will and does what he feels is correct...that is it. It is not for anyone to condemn him. He maybe wrong but it is between him and God. That is what I consider maturity to be. The WTS keeps its followers as children who do not have the confidence to make a decision of their own without reference to the WTS publications.

I think you can be more of a problem to them if you hang around! Think about it. They would love for you to DA yourself. For you to be seen in your area by JWs...with a smile on your face, happy etc. will speak volumes. You are more likely to get people to see you as a normal person who has found a better life.

Can you be a glutton and inherit god's kingdom?
by Judith ini was looking for the scripture about who will inherit god's kingdom and can't find it because i packed up all my books and stored them.
is there mention of gluttony being one of the things that will keep you out?
proverbs 23:20 says a drunkard and a glutton will come to proverty.. proverbs 28:7 says one having companionship with a flutton humiliates his father.. so if i can't take blood transfusions, be a drunkard, lie with same sex people, etc.

Hey all, I know of a sister who was not allowed to go the ministry because she was too fat! The elders said she was just too fat! She did eat a lot mind you but she did have a bad childhood. This was in the UK. I don't think it would happen in the US.

Is it fear? I am not scared of any of the traits mentioned here. What I would say is that women who are articulate, intelligent etc. should also be cool. I've come across too many who are simply a pain in the ass. They are in your face... over bearing. Its a matter of dislike not fear. Women in power is Ok. I just like them to handle it well...well don't we always

by ISP inthe wts will condemn the recent murder and do its best to distance itself from the parents.
jws will say its the actions of people who are deranged and nothing to do with jws.
they will say other religious groups harm children.

The WTS is to blame because of its sins of ommission as well as commission re child discipline. Bear in mind it counts itself as a 'nation'..Gods nation no less ...with God's laws. But its policy in this area is woefully lacking. Hence it is at fault.
