  What Would You Say If Someone Expressed Interest In Being A JW???

  if someone told you that they thought the witnesses seemed like good people and that they were thinking of having a bible study with them, would you try to persuade them not to?

  would you just keep quiet, hoping they would see things for themselves?.......if you are still a witness (technically), would you subtlely or overtly tell them to run??

  being here almost everyday, we get to know each other and often friendships start from this forum.

  we get to know who we like and dislike.

  some friendships here are better than in actual life.. does it frustrate you to know that 99% of the people here, you will never see?.

  I think you get to meet some members....the ones local to you........at least. You can't meet everyone...but you should meet some! You need to 'widen out'..oops thats WTS talk!

  i am really excited by george bush's latest reason for bombing iraq: he's running out of patience.

  for some time now i've been really pi##ed off with mr johnson, who lives a couple of doors down the street.

  well, him and mr patel, who runs the health food shop.they both give me queer looks, and i'm sure mr johnson is planning something nasty for me, but so far i haven't been able to discover what.. i've been round to his place a few times to see what he's up to, but he's got everything well hidden.

  Ruby ridge was the fault of Randy Weaver and his freinds. The wife was also to blame. She could have left. The sniper was given orders to take out anyone who had a gun. He took aim at someone who he thought was Randy Weaver and that person did have a gun. Just as he pulled the trigger the wife came through a door and stepped right in front of the shot. It was a freak accident but not the Government's Fault. Criminals are responsible for their actions. The Government enforces the law.

  Starscream...you are way off mark. The FBI stitched up Weaver on a charge because he would be an informant on a white supremacist group. I dont blame him! He retreated to the wilderness and lived off the land. The FBI staked out his place for weeks before moving in. They changed the rules to shoot on sight. One day weavers boy was out with his dog. the shot the dog. The boy ran. They shot his arm off before shooting him in the back. The mother was trying to open the door to him when she got killed by the sniper. What crime did the Weavers do? I bet you are glad it wasn't your family.

  sorry friends to report, my husband and i are divorcing.

  he could not handle me saying i will never go back to the truth.

  he is not ready to face all the crap from growing up a jw.

  Hey thats bad news. I hope things quieten down. I would say that sometimes people need a little time. Both my wife and I are out of it. But at first my wife was not supportive. She knew i was on the net......H2O etc. She didn't like it and called me an apostate! She threatened me with the elders. I had to cover up my true feelings for a while. It has worked out but sometimes it seems better at the beginning to appear less certain about things, even if you are!

  Anyway, I am not saying you have done anything wrong. I hope it works out. Sometimes the split can be for the best.

  Memoral time kids...... anyone going?

  i don't about you all but being raised a jehovah's witness was so ingrained in me that going to the memoral seems the right thing to do at this time of the year.

  so i for one will do it for no other reason other than i was trained that way, and of course i like the song they sing its touching and i am a big sinner lord have mercey!

  How could the US possibly lose? Well, obviously not in any outright confrontation. Iraq has no chance of waging any effective war without WMD. I don’t believe it has any and I doubt it will use any if it did.

  The best tactic for Saddam is let the US walk right into Bhagdad. He should disband his regular army into cells that will then perpetrate acts of ‘terrorism’. There should be enough conventional arms in circulation to make the occupying forces life a nightmare. The US intends to be in Iraq for some extended period while it restructures the country to its liking. Likely a number of US companies will be involved in rebuilding parts of it. During this period its troops and others will become sitting ducks to the unseen enemy. Iraqi forces will resort to ambushing the unwary, planting bombs and no doubt suicide bombings also. Paranoia and panic will pervade.

  In this country we were crippled by the IRA who could evade capture and terrorise the UK mainland. There was no real answer to a determined and equipped enemy. The Palestinians wage a war of sorts against the Israelis. Its crude but effective. Not many Israelis feel very safe getting on a bus or eating out despite massive military superiority. They live in fear. All Saddam has to do is abandon his airfields and tanks. Let them be destroyed by the US. When the US looks for his army, there won’t be one. Not in the expected sense anyway. This will degenerate into a Vietnam quite easily. I don’t think you can expect anything less.
