  Can 'truth' change?

  in another thread i posted the following thought, but i wanted to post this for everyone to see and give their input.. the argument that 'truth' never changes holds no water.

  according to random house webster's dictionary, 'truth' is defined as follows,"conformity with fact or reality".. the word 'conform' is defined as,"to bring into agreement".. if 'truth' never changes, then how can something taught in science that is considered to be 'exact', later be corrected by 'conforming with fact or reality so as to bring into agreement'?

  Nice reply, but the statement that 'houses are hot' makes no sense, but my statement makes total sense. If tommorrow, it was announced that the 'Law of Gravity' was found to be innaccurate and inncorrect, and was 'updated', how would this viewed in the scientific community?

  Since you seem to be well versed in the Society's publications, do you know of a publication by the Society that was published after 1980, that gives a totally erroneous teaching which the Society claims to be 'truth' from Jehovah?

  What names have I called the ex-JWs here? They are nothing in comparison to what I have been called by some members on this board. In fact, I asked everyone if they were offended by being called an 'apostate', and because a few said that they were, I have refrained from using that term so that I wouldn't offend anyone. You seem to be a nice person, what would you do if a male board memeber called you a 'bitch' or a 'whore' for just expressing your feelings?

  Are you so preoccupied with your hate of the Society that you don't even see the blatant verbal abuse of a woman? Even if you don't agree with the scriptual admonition about women teaching publicly, do two wrongs make a right?

  Island Woman,

  'Not' calling a woman a 'bitch' or a 'whore' has nothing to do with being a Jehovah's witness. It has to do with respect, and I feel very strongly that your post did not warrant you being called a 'bitch', nor did Violet Anai deserve to be called a 'whore'! Where are the 'real' men on this board???

  I am not leaving, I said 'good riddance' to the likes of you, dumb-dumb. How many times did you disrupt the meetings and the police were called. Did you ever talk to yourself while in the restroom at the Kingdom Hall during the meeting?? You are insane!! Did you want to get molested but nobody was interested?? No takers here!!!!

Is this what leaving Jehovah does to people? I have the impression that D8TA, and some others, were sick to begin with, and even the organization couldn't help them. Good riddance!!

  You called Island Woman a 'bitch'. She is a lady who expressed her fellings and you have belittled her and degraded her with your derogatory name calling. It is obvious that you hate women. You mistreat them, just as you did DJ in the chat room. You are one sick 'dude', and I feel that even though there are men in here that are no longer witnesses, they most assuredly are not going to stand by and watch you bash a female. You are a coward!!
