The evil slave class are thrown out and start to gnash their teeth. The FD slave have concluded in the past this applies to Christendom and apostates. I refuse to be labelled as the evil slave class and certainly cannot describe "coming to my senses" as being thrown out by the master. How can we the 'apostate class' along with the ever increasing great crowd of 'other conscience class' critically examine whether or not we are fulfilling this scripture? To be honest i would not go back in, as everlasting life with the 'elder class' would be hell, but i do wonder? any thoughts

to be controlled or not to be controlled that is the question!
by semelcred inafter years in a high-control group i cannot seem to accept any form of control from an organisation.
i am fascinated to know how others cope with finding another group to asscociate with.
i am so cynical i might never be able to be a part of any group again!

Hotchocolate your comments are my exact feelings. Others here have felt like studying the bible and remaing involved in thinking about worship and spiritual questions. I feel strange that , that after years as an elder and pionee, and once the confusion of leaving had gone, i have really no desire to do this.
Intellectually i think - should i make an effort to do some bible reading? but all i hear, in my head when i read, is the GB and the control!!! I have read alot of Ayan Rand and think objectivism is an approach to ethics that i can respect but even with that i think 'hang on a second, don't allow yourself to be joined to a philosophy as a replacement for a religion!'
any thoughts?

It is not high on my list at the moment, but some time in the future i would like to get back to thinking about God and sharing in worship. How have others here coped and any thoughts

the figure is growing and if reports are to be believed the numbers are made up mostly of experienced and long serving bros and sis!
the numbers for last year have not been as high as in 1967. with the youngest gb for decades!.

On review 'reports' may have given the impression of statistics etc. I was making a comment that a number of blogs and posts on this site and others have indicated that many experienced ones have been seen to partake. I guess that you would not post 'oh yeah the new one just took a sip', so perhaps that comment on reflection was subjective. Apologies.
I would be interested to hear peoples comments or stories of how ones were treated, when after years with an eartly hope, start partaking and claiming a heavenly one! That must be a serious challenge to their families, as much as the cong!

Many of you want to do it! We ve read stuff and thought about stuff concerning Christ as our personal Mediator and how strange it is to pass by the emblems!
How many, who have not taken this step before, will be willing too!
We have already been invited to the meal and every year we ve gone to be told not to eat! Are we to wait until we get a voice that says we can?

Fred Franz would have done something far more exciting! Barbarra Anderson made an interesting comment in one of her articles concerning a collection of Millerite books that used to be in Fred's library. I wonder if that is why they' ve lost their shine and lost their way, nobody on the GB or else where at HQ is connected to the ideological roots. I am not complaining. This re-hashing of the generation thing is going to overlap with another generation thing and the end will never come! lol
I am taking the emblems this year, lets try one of those things they use the internet for, you know to stop simon cowel getting the xmas no1. Lets see if we can organize and get the embelm partakers up to 12, 000. Now that would get them talking!!!

Mill Hill Disfellowshippings
by BorgHater ina few months ago there was a thread about a couple of elders at the mill hill bethel being disfellowshipped because they disagreed with some wt doctrine (i can't recall exactly what it was) and that several other betheliteswere under 'investigation'.
i haven't heard anything since, does anyone know anything more about this?.

I too served at the london bethel, 95-97. I remember Mike Pottage, he came back to the london bethel because of civil unrest in the country in which him and his wife were serving. He became a memeber and overseer of the construction family. Some of the posts mention his ability to weave his missionary past into every conversation, very funny and true!
After leaving bethel my wife and I pioneered for 5 years and I served as an elder for 4 of them. I started to be troubled by issues almost a tear after being appointed, but many here on this forum will have done the same - 'left it to Jehovah'. At bethel i did see some strange things, it was the bidding for rooms that made me laugh the most though. Uglier things revolved around the pecking order and bethel eldership. There was a power struggle around 'the press' with a member of the GB having to fly out and give them all a talking too! I really feel for you and your wives for the way you were treated. In my experience, bethel becomes the coldest place on earth when you tell them your leaving, it must have been truly strange for all of you.
I have never posted on here before but i am a big fan of the freeminds website. I felt like responding as the discussion reminded me of some fun times, some people i know and the strange place they call bethel.
Why do you think, if the reports are true! that a number of responsible ones are starting to take the emblems? I have my ideas but i would be interedted if you had heard any discussions from around the bethel table!
