  I stand corrected about the 430 languages. I never doubted the story just the letter. I will not be at the meeting to hear it read out. I think the average JW will be relieved as the magazines are so poorly written and dumbed down to the lowest levels of education.

  The society often brags how it was the first to use talking movies, radio station hook ups and MEPs but they have lost their forward looking attitude.

  Magazines on the internat have the possibility of including all sorts of media attached to them. Why use two bored window cleaners knocking on doors or poorly educated and tired elders presenting a public talk when you can have dynamic and interactive presentations to spew the cult message.

  The letter is a fake. Unless the GB are writing letters to bodies of elders in simplified english the wording of the letter is not in the style of the writing dept.

  While i enjoy and appreciate the humour of the spoof letter it is not to be trusted.

  i've just started reading a course in miracles and wondered if any one here has any thoughts or any contact with this book?

  as an ex-jw i find it hard to accept reading any other religious publication but i find the idea of the ego's attempt at separation as the real issue against the idea of original sin a fascinating concept.

  Hi All,

  I've just started reading A Course in Miracles and wondered if any one here has any thoughts or any contact with this book? As an ex-JW I find it hard to accept reading any other religious publication but I find the idea of the ego's attempt at separation as the real issue against the idea of original sin a fascinating concept.

  Also the book was channeled! which sets off alarm bells although I did used to believe that God used the Faithful Slave as his channel so I suppose it's not that different.?

  I would appreciate to hear your comments.

  I also know from carrying out many cong financial audits that literature taken is usually 20% greater than contributed in the world wide fund (if you use the old prices) and we only just paid the bills for the hall. I strongly objected 8 years ago when congs where asked to hand all savings over to the branch on promise that if it should be required they would hand it back. The only reason the cong had any money was because an older sister's donation and she had willed it specifically towards a new hall. The elders forgot her wishes and handed most of it over - and still have no new hall and very little savings despite being a well attended inner-city hall they'll never see money again

  That is really helpful and fast!!!

  We were once both elders, in fact the friend this link is for conducted our wedding at the kh.

  Totally glad to be out and loving life. We were discussng whether an organization could survive deep doctrinal change. From the example it appears as a yes and no answer.

  It appears as if Rutherford, from the grave, will continue to keep this organization under his control until a split occurs. Who will get to keep all the money if such a split happens?
