Did You Ever Tell Someone They Smelled?

i was "assigned" by the body of elders to talk to a pioneer/ministerial servant about his b o. he didn't have a car and so was always put in someone's car group.

everyone complained about having to take him.. when i talked to him about his stink, he got very very offended and copped an attitude.

i finally told him that unless he started bathing and washing his disgusting oily hair, he would be removed from his assignments.....what i never understood is how anybody could be told that they actually smelled and yet get pissed off with me!.

My boyfriend is like a naughty little kid. He's a serial soap-dodger - always trying to get out of having a shower -yuk! He prefers to have what he calls a 'Bath in a Can' - he just sprays deoderant over his already stinky pits Everyone tells him he stinks but he just laughs and says 'they love it really'. Short of actually threatening to dump him, i've tried everything to get him to be less smelly and scruffy. I think i've actually got used to the smell because when my parents are suffocating from the stench of his BO, i can't even smell it anymore lol. I give up! It's a good job i love him so much

Oh and btw these stinky stories are hilarious

Pet Lion shortage

i can imagine that in the new system the pet lions will be cloned and have a frequency chip so they can be controlled.

I think in the new system the JW's will also have a frequency chip so they can be controlled lol. In fact, the WBTS would implant all JW's with a chip right now if they could...then again, they don't really need to do they?

Question for those still active but no longer believe

not sure if i'm posting this in the right section but hey-ho.. there are many of you here who have seen the light about the wbts but are either having to stay active so as not to lose your family or who choose to in order that you may be effective in getting your family away from the clutches of the cult.

either way, you all have my sympathy, it must be tough.. my question to you is, what would you do if you were to be involved in an accident or fall ill and needed a blood transfusion?

if you are awake and lucid you may be able to tell a liason comittee to get stuffed and that you are having blood.

You make an excellent point. The issues you mentioned are things my parents and i also figured out years before the GB changed their minds on them - ooh we must have the heavenly calling after all lol. Just proves how ludicrous the whole thing is!!

What Makes Blood Sacred?

I remember finding the old Paradist Lost book on my grandads shelf as a child and looking through it....even then i thought it was strange that Adam and Jesus were portrayed in the pictures as blue-eyed blondes - they looked like members of Hilters Youth lol

i joined jws, but i don't think i'll go on there very much.

this site is time consuming as it is!

i first found an ex jw site which has really nice, supportive people on there and i really like it, but i started to come to this one as people tend to post more regularly and there is always something interesting being discussed here. I still visit my first site but i tend to post more on here now. But i don't think i'd have the time for much involvement in more than two sites - especially as this one has so many new topics so often.

what was the jw`s high water mark?

when were the jw`s at there peak.

i remember when i became a witness in 1986 there seemed to be almost an electricity in the air in my part of the world nottingham england (for all those outside the uk where robinhood legend comes from).. when we went on the ministry there would sometimes be as many as 60 people mainly in there early twenties, we couldnt fit in one room and had to stand outside sometimes, now when i see the jw`s out and about there maybe 4 or 5 in number mainly old people.. i remember those days, coming to the end of the cold war, berlin wall coming down, band aid (feet of clay prophecy) peace and sercurity etc etc, it seemed arrmageddon was just round the corner, of course the jw`s still had there sell by date then (1914 gen).

was that when the witnesses were at there strongest.

i was assigned to Nottingham assembly in the 1980's and although only young at the time, i recall more palpable excitement and expectation and a very different atmosphere in comparison to the 1990's onward.
