"2008" End of this system...??
by breeze inmy theory
maybe the org was right with all of their predictions about the timeline of 607bc 1914?
except for the small difference, the time that jesus spent on the earth was exempt from the calculations?

no, it's not a life-drawing exercise; show us what you use to produce your art.. here's my watercolour sketch box, with the colours i use most - permanent rose, cadmium red, cadmium yellow, lemon yellow, yellow ochre, cobalt turquoise, french ultramarine, antwerp (prussian) blue, winsor (phthalocyanine) green, raw sienna (actually a slightly darker version of yellow ochre), burnt sienna, burnt umber:.
my back-up box, with the brushes i normally use:.

My great-grandmother's paint box, my paints (burnt sienna is my favorite base), my favorite brush (#18 Sable), and a well-used rag.
This, a canvas, a pallette (wax paper will do), and a good brush cleaner is all I need.

A Question for All JWs to Ponder
by radar inif the governing body are spirit directed, why do they need to vote on issues pertaining to faith?.
if 12 governing body members vote, and say 5 vote in favour of one understanding but 7 vote in favour of the opposite.. does this mean that the 5 who were not of the majorityv, did not have jehovah's spirit on the matter?.
is the majority rule, the right one, the spirit directed one?.

If the GB is 1/3 imperfect, then perhaps 1/3 of the doctrine is flawed. The imperfect sheep should then be able to ignore 1/3 of the stupid rules.

What must I do to be saved?
by StinkyPantz infirst of all, i am agnostic.
maybe there's a god, maybe not.
so i wonder, do i actually have to believe in god in order to be saved?

So, you really wanted to know, within the Christian belief system, if you could benefit from the Christian concept of salvation just by being a good person? Were you looking for proof that you are pre-judged?

Serving Shoulder to Shoulder - Jan 25 Study Articl
by jgnat ini have seen gossip and innuendo split a church and wound a good man.
this was my church, and i loved it dearly.
the whispered conversations late in the night were distressing and disturbing.

Excellent points, Blues Brother. It is all right for them to judge all other churches, former members, and "weak ones". But who will judge the FDS??? There was plenty of evidence that Moses was fully directed by Jehovah himself. Cas in point was that massive pillar of cloud and fire. What evidence has the FDS supplied? It all falls apart under scrutiny. They don't want people to look because their paper castle built on air (oops, I mean print) will fall down. Blondie added her two cents here.

Italian, you are amazing! You are reading this week's Watchtower?!?! This is probably too late, but how about carrying some flour in your pocket, and when you get to the part about Miriam, pull your hand out of the pocket and go oh no! leprosy!

nagging doubt
by JNS2 inmy journey from lurker to poster was pretty quick.
all the posts are addicting to read, this is worse than being a couch potato.
i've been fortified to make a clean break & them the little inner voice starts talking back.

Welcome JNS2, nice to meet ya.
Notice what happened when the high-control organization, the Communist Party of the USSR, gave over to democracy? There was a bit of anarchy and wildness that went on. Citizens who had depended on central control for their conscience, suddenly were free to make their own choices. I think it is a very good thing that you can hear your inner voice, doubting yourself a little bit, questioning your own motives, etc. etc. Give yourself time and your inner voice will become more trustworthy. A personal conscience, independent of any magazine! Imagine it!
