Rebuild of Babylon

and it got me to thinking - & looking - for information on the rebuild of babylon......i can't seem to find any "well" researched or informed documents - have any of you looked into this "prophecy" - and what were your conclusions?

Here is a picture of the New Babylon. I understand it is being built at a fraction of the original scale. Note the cheap brickwork behind the facade. Perhaps this is a good analogy to Saddam's reign.

well i must say internet is a blessing fore us users, never have so much ours to report as now, i think i hade to give a tippto the gb and tell them to putt in a n artikel in km how we can increase our service if we use all new thing as teknik have blessed us widh, and russel was sure a man how understnad the importens of using new media, so internet is soon going to be the new area to preace on, i think some here must be worried , think if 100.000 of jw came inn here and start to argu widh you.

What, me worried?

I am trembling in my boots. I therefore instruct all honest apostates to avoid associating with any renegade JW who thinks he can encourage 100,000 computer-literate JW's in good standing to "bend" the direction from the Faithful and Discreet Slave and post on the internet. On a site that allows free flow of ideas. Where everyone is welcome.

Oops. That's right. I can't tell anybody here what to do.

Is it normal to "obsess" with this site?

i found this site a few days ago.

it has been the greatest therapy.

for the first time in twenty years, i have just been given the opprutunity to "let it all out" and answer to every issue i ever had with these folks.

What is normal? We have all been affected by an abnormal organization in one way or another. It is normal to feel a tremendous amount of release to have somewhere to talk about our common experience. Were you ever free to share your deepest thoughts, worries, concerns at the hall? Did they care to know your personal story? I know I spend a lot of time here. But I don't want to give it up just yet. I am having too much fun.

Besides, as long as the WTS is capable of hurting me or my loved ones, I will continue to be as informed and prepared as I can be. Being the kind of person I am, though, to keep my long-term interest, I need to know that my contribution is making a difference.

Did TR say it? Yeah, I think I will calm down after a thousand posts or so...

How many years left to Armageddon

with all the emphasis put on armageddon in the org.

can we throw away all the signs that jesus gave, just because we quit being a jw?.

does armageddon scare you as much as when you were a jw?

Very well summarized, blacksheep. Perhaps part of our problem is that we do not remember how bad it was a thousand years ago. A thousand years ago, many were convinced that was the time of the end. And they had a lot more evidence than we have today. We have not seen such a terrible horror as the Black Death in the last thousand years, not even close. Now that we have hygiene, antibiotics, vaccines and teflon replacement parts, we life safer, healthier, and longer lives. And that is just the astounding improvements in medical care. How about greater respect for common man through charter of rights and the abolishment of slavery?

With our easier lives, we have a very different idea of what constitutes a disaster. Nowadays people run to their herbalist when they get a hangnail.

been away for a while so it was quite the eye shock coming back in.. yes, we are finally getting our shepherding call this weekend.

Jourles, I think you will be all right. You have shown remarkable composure in the past when you have run in to your old JW friends. My bet is that you will make those guys squirm, without them being able to finger what exactly you said that was so terribly wrong.
