My JW honey is a real honey. But I don't give the WTS credit for that. He has always been a sweet-hearted kind of guy. There is one mark against him. Sometimes out of guilt or fear (Jehovah Will Not Hear Your Prayers) he can do astoundingly cruel things. I do believe the WTS warps people's natural affections.

Do You Think That Jehovah's Witnesses Are Basically Good People?
by minimus inthere's a lot of jw bashing here.
we've all been affected by negative things because of the organization.
but do you think that as a group, jehovah's witnesses are bad, or do you think that most of the witnesses that you know are inherently good people??

What an insulting statement. I, too, would refuse an invitation like this if my spouse was excluded. Who invited you? His sister or his parents? How about telling the sister you regret turning down the invitation, but you just don't feel it is right if you went and he couldn't. Tell her you are very excited about her graduating, and perhaps the three of you could go out to dinner privately to celebrate.

It sounds like you need a break. We have something in Edmonton called Kids Kottage that helps parents get a break when they are overwhelmed. I don't know if there is something similar where you live. Have you tried L'Arche? http://www.larchecanada.org/frset1a.html

LOL. Funny how people live longer "these days". I thought the world was on it's last legs.

At a steady rate of 1000 every 25 years, it will take another 200 years for the "anointed remnant" to disappear. I might be wrong, but peaceful pete's actuarial table takes in to account that more people drop off (or croak) year by year the older they get.
It shows, first of all, that the anointed numbers have to be bogus. Second of all, it should be a lot sooner than 200 years for all of the anointed to croak. Few people live to be 288 years old these days.
The reference to Enron, I believe, has to be with a now infamous accounting firm known for "cooking the books." http://www.thedailyenron.com/
There is a very good reason why we don't all become accountants. Numbers make my head hurt.

How many out here.....
by tazmaniac inhow many out here know a loved one or know of someone who suffers from depression and it is from being in the borg and never feel you are doing enough.
my ex wife would always lapse into a few month state of depression right after a visit from the c/o and getting pounded on about f/s hours or not enough studies or not enough pioneers yadda yadda yadda.
i know with my ex that the constant fear of armageddon and feeling inadequate was a depression trigger ready to be pulled at any instant.

I have been able to slip in and out unnoticed. But then again, women don't count, do they? DO DRESS CONSERVATIVELY. I assume you are close-shaven. The only people I saw stopped were men with beards and t-shirts. Paste on a blissful smile, take a back seat, and enjoy.
