Just because you're a car guy. I found the darn thing hilarious. I can't imagine they actually made these cars. I thought you collected all kinds of vintage cars. Didn't you have a Corvair?

OK. I was worried that it might have had something to do with reaching out to the world of Islam - or developing respect for ACORN.

Yes, my first car while still a JW was a brand new (disapproved 2-door) 1967 Corvair Monza. I bought it after reading Ralph Nader's book, incidentally. They were excellent cars, sort of the American Porsche 911 - I have since owned three more.

I had a bid for a practically unused 1965 Corvair Turbo Corsa two years ago but lost out to another bidder right before I bought the Rolls-Royce.

I do not know how or why I was associated with this video - but, for the record, I am an active enviro-recycler.

My cars range in age from 1986 to 1996 - therefore I am preserving the planet by conserving our resources.

I have just looked, and my shoe size is 12.

yes praise allah, the theocratic government of iran today has anounced which haircuts are banned.

ponytails and mullet cuts will get you punished...{also the jewish cut is out he he}....doesn't it make you glad the witnesses don't have there own country.

The WBTS should buy a small country, transform it into their idea of paradise, get all of the JWs in the world to migrate there and call it Paradise Earth. If anyone refuses to migrate to this paradise on earth, they will be DF'd or auto-DA by not showing up in a certain amount of time. Then they can drink their kool-aid and sing their stupid new songs from their lame song book.

Exactly. They would find out pretty quick how well a "theocratic government" actually works.

As a side note - did you know that the Scientologists actually tried to do this back in the 1970s or early 1980s by embedding themselves into a mediterranean African country and trying to take it over? They got run off pretty quickly when the real government figured out they were not philanthropists like they claimed.

JWoods, i concur with you completely. A believing JW coming to a website, ones warned against by the org...asking where he can get a scanned copy of the badge??? yeah right. We know how the org feels about that.

And if you re-read that first page, the replies showed no hate - they were at most in good fun. What became obvious within about 5 posts was a definite chip on the OPs shoulder. Troll Police is a tireless task, it would seem -

a brother i spoke with from bethel to me seemed discouraged and lacking zeal latley...he spoke of leaving which shocked me since he was there for decades...he left to get a full time job!!!

it was his whole reason for living since i've known him!

others have said the new doctrine of "blended generations" of anionted seeing armagedon is "confusing" or "i just don't get it"...one brother my only close friend is furious and said i qoute..."they seem to be blowing smoke up our ass!

However, surely 1975 was a much bigger debacle? _____ In a way - there was about a three year setback where number of JWs and field service hours went down. However, the WT recriminations started immediately: "We never really said it, and you should not have ever believed it" The hours and publishers were coming back up a little when the whole Ray Franz issue became known; I really felt that the Franz/Dunlap scandal were a bigger deal than just the failure of 1975. Of course, I had never believed in 1975 personally anyway, and was hoping they would reform themselves after this failure. Fat chance of that -
