  ok here we go...im going to put my head on the chopping board (so to speak).

  i only came on here to meet new people and have chats etc...yes i am a jw and do love jah.....but im also just an average person who im pretty sure many of you would get on with if we had the time to chat about other things too.... i think some want me to go....sad but yes true.....if you all want me to go then i'll do that..im fine with it as i just want to please people...... i know jb and some say they want to go to my elders,and honestly im fine with that but surely if someone is threatening then they clearly dont want me on here...... time to go???????

  Am I alone in noticing how smugly legalistic the society has always been?

  It is almost as if they make it a public profession to hate everything the United States stands for, but when threatened they run to hide under mommy's skirts and make an appeal to the Supreme Court for their God-Given Civil Rights.

  we have friends who say that they have had some awful shepherdings,the things theyve been told in them were far from encouraging.. we havent ever had one so to be honest i cant comment...but would love to know if you had one?

  were they regular and were they ever encouraging?

  Having seen it all from the Elder's point of view -

  The elders are just like a 5th grade drama student trying to read out a Shakespear play - they do good to remember the words, let alone act the part, or understand what the hell the purpose of it is. If one of them actually tried to understand the "sheep" in question, they themselves would be lined up for questioning under an unshaded lamp. No wonder it seems cold and heartless to the truly discouraged -

  Good way for the elders to count some easy time without actually going to a non-witness door and trying to sell literature, though.

  for those of us who were not able to celebrate birthday's growing up, do you find that in adult life you put a lot of emphasis on your birthday?

  it's personally my favorite celebration, second would be thanksgiving but really only because i'm a sucker for lots of turkey and booze lol.

  seriously though, since coming out birthday's have surprisingly become a very sacred thing to me.

  i gotta vent...i am sitting here at my computer, using my nice, much faster 18 mb internet (vs my old 1mb)....and what am i doing (other than posting about the qualities of toilet paper)?....i am looking up crap about "gulper eels".. you see, my 8-year-old soon to be stepson says to my fiancee and i last thursday.... 8yrold: "i have a project due.

  " hmmmm.... snakesandfiancee, looking at each other suspiciously: "when is it due?

  " 8yo: "an animal, i have to find facts about an animal and pictures and print them on a poster board" as he pulls out of his backpack a large sheet of paper that has been folded more times than an accordion.

  It is sorta like soap box derby racing - we all know who really builds the car, but the hope is that father and son will at least do it together - to some degree.

  My stepson still has a little balsa wood Indian canoe that "he and I" made when he was in the second or third grade.

  It is an American rite of passage in the finest sense of the idea.
