BTW - here is the Wiki on the Sin-Eaters:

I am surprised that nobody challenged me on this - it was so horrible that I refused to believe it until somebody from another forum gave me a link.
in 2000, my boss, a police lieutenant, was nearing retirement and had very little work to do.. every afternoon, he used to come out of his office and station himself near my workstation for a chat.
there was something about me that seemed to fascinate him.
i think it was my being a jw; he used to ask probing questions about my belief.. one day our conversation centered on sin and judgment.

Forgiveness? If a person has consistently repented and been forgiven (or I guess even a heartfelt deathbed one) how does that filter into this discussion of judgement? How is Judgement affected--- both in this 'system' and/or 'millennial'.......
I would say that repentence (even deathbed) has the potential to keep you into your complex cast system as before. It cannot, of course, avoid your retest later on during the thousand years.
To a JW - (here I am talking about the lowly earthly class) - your repentence and forgiveness is a constant THAT WAS THEN, THIS IS NOW.
Honest to say, I seem to recall them teaching at one time or another that the "second death" could be kept around even after the millenium just in case of further rebellions!
so my jw husband tells me last night a elder was disfelloshipped.
totally unexpected by the cong.
well, my hubby was really upset by it.
Allow a week between announcements.
Now that is just ludicrous. (as if nobody could put 2 + 2 together) - However, the post is right - this was given at least token notice.
Even if it were different congregations in the same city (even the same circuit) - it was out within days.
I have personally heard even elders on the committee gossip out the real deal - get this - "in the name of putting down useless speculation"!!!
i recently read a fascinating series on the history of the third reich.. one incident discussed in the book was the large group of catholics who stood against the nazi regime.. the reason i found it so interesting is that the wt continues to make it sound like the catholic church and all of its members were practically card-carrying nazi's, and that jw's were the only religious group who stood against the regime.
i was interested to read statistics of the many catholics, protestants, and others who were tortured and sent to concentration camps for their faith and opposition.. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/mit_brennender_sorge.
.
It is not just the witnesses - many rabidly anti-catholic groups (other than JW) have long tried to create a Hitler-Church of Rome "axis" for which there is really little evidence.
I contend that for every so-called "bad priest or bishop" there was at least one Schindler.

If he has family, ask how his wife, kids, etc. are doing.
This has real merit - take the high ground, even if your husband has no idea what the high ground really is.

Unfortunately for your purposes, it was likely an adultry thing (most elder DFs are) and will just reinforce the idea that the JWs "keep their congregations clean".
Unfortunately, also, I guess they missed the Garridos clan.
i just had a thought--never a good sign, right, ladies?--about jesus' role as mediator, as defined by the watchtower society.
i personally experienced a particularly interesting moment with my mother back when i first started to lose faith in the borg.
(i'm actually going to use that term, borg, now because "organization" makes me cringe every time i hear it, even when it's used at work.
One interesting point is the doctrine mentioned in an above thread "Got me to thinking" by Snowbird.
It is related to this.
JWs think that Annointed JWs go directly to heaven upon death because of their relation to JC (new covenant).
Great Crowd obviously do not have JC new covenant forgiveness - they are absolved of sin temporarily by their own death. Then they "start over" in the new earth and are under threat of the second death at the end of 1000 years. Pretty much the same as somebody from say the Gobi Desert who never heard of the witnesses, and in fact, all non-christians (except maybe Adam) from the past.
Big difference in the arrangements, eh? same covenant? HARDLY.
the wt will make the assertion that the witnesses have the truth (i.e.
are god's org) due to a huge laundry list of items.
of course, this ignores the fact that their teaching is that they were appointed over jesus earthly belongings in 1919. but, lets roll with it...the witnesses have the truth because they do not:.
It seems to me that the only thing unique about the JW's is their belief that Jesus died on a stake not a cross.
This was not a JW original - remember Catholic Dissident Alexander Hisslop and The Two Babylons? They actually got it from him.
Will they also give us $4,000 for our old car?
EDIT - will they also promise under bond to have gotten the Pine Lysol smell out?

remaining calm when under persecution and when being lied about.
Having lies said about them ALL the time.
Being accused of things they havent done.
I'll stop there for now.....
The thread was asking about unique doctrines that are reasonable. Not about persecution complexes. I submit that many religions, probably a majority, have the same persecution complex issues as listed above. So we are taking your answer as "no unique doctrines" -
