Evil (human evil), yes. Obviously.
I just don't fell any need to extend it further and blame it on mysterious and unseen spirit demons.

19 in time the men of the city said to e?lisha: here, now, the situation of the city is good, just as my master is seeing; but the water is bad, and the land is causing miscarriages.. 20 at that he said: fetch me a small new bowl and put salt in it.
so they fetched it for him.

People - with all due respect - are you actually saying that "witches" can call a curse on an enemy and cause their death?
The human mind can easily equate a lot of supernatural cause to just simple circumstance.

The old testament is full of this kind of thing.
If society did not hold it as "holy" due to superstition and tradition, it might very well be viewed as the history of a master serial murderer and his band of followers.
i think judith hayes says it well:.

We recently had a thread which debated the meaning of the word Athiest. I have seem several such threads here.
I am always amused when die-hard Athiests make a big deal out of the meaning of this word - the evangelical Athiests (the ones who go out of their way to limit public religious activity as a political statement) seem quite religious to me. As was said above, the insistence on any unprovable belief is essentially an act of faith.
The agnostics seem more to not claim to know, nor care, what they or others believe about god.

Actually, not all that big a deal - when you compare it to the flood.
while being reinstated several months ago -- no restriction were given other than no commenting - service was allowed - getting over the average for the cong, not missing meetings - its been months now and the brother met recently with someof the jc members - they praised his hours and meeting attendance but because his lessons are not completely underlined, and he does make notes during the meeting, he has not been allowed to still make comments and become a fully active member of the congregation as they say this note taking is causing a problem with other members of the congregation.. have you even heard of anything so off the wall?
is this the way its done in most cong??
he thought if someone was interested enough to listen and make notes of a good point in their mags, it would be something to be referred to in the future... i know i have seen folks doing this while the lesson is being read.... .
Doesn't make sense to me either.. he is very despondent and they will not give any lee way... one in particular is adamant
Look - this is as old as the hills. A lot of committee business is done solely on the personal prejudice of the elders. Have you considered telling him to just give it up and move on? They obviously don't like him - he might as well.
BTW - I am a former elder, not current. But it looks like nothing much has changed.
i met a woman some time back who i consider as a friend.
i see her from time to time, no, i have never dated her.
she does not look too bad.
I would be sure and tell her that you think the two of you are not compatible when you do talk to her and ask her for a date.
Women love such honesty.

??? He can represent the congregation in the door to door ministry to outsiders, but cannot comment during its own meetings ???
Anybody else think that is a little backwards?

but I like her, but we are not compatible enough.
Then you should find someone compatible, but whom you do not like.

serenitynow, she wants me to email her. She told me yesterday.
I think you should give her the address of the long-term prison guy who needs pen pals. This would get her off your hands and let you gracefully move on.
