  Just a little note for people still in.....

  i'd just simply like to say to anyone who's still in and trying to break free, that there is hope that others (family still in) may see sense and not disown you entirely, sometimes things can seem more frightening than they really are and we can't see that untill we've tried it.

  once the hard part is over you just have to 'stick to your guns' it is extremely hard especially if you're alone in leaving but it does get easier over time.

  i'm fully aware of families totaly disowning you and this is the hardest part but the freeness of mind and feeling of liberation, along with hopefully better mental health, for yourself and children (if you have any) i'd say personally is well worth not staying in a miserable organisation like this..

  hello - first may i apologise for capital letters my keyboard has gone screwy.

  for the last several months i have been having meetings with two really nice women from the jw organisation.

  i don't want to offend anyone by asking these questions i am simply trying to better understand how the watchtower came about without listening to too much anti stuff.

  Digderidoo,

  Isn't it better to find things out for yourself rather than be spoon fed the answers. Doing the research will mean that the questioner will be confident in the answer found. The problem we have all had in the past is we were spoon fed answers by the WTB$.

  i'm glad to be able to say that my husband and i finally sent our letter saying we want out and are wait to hear back for a potential jc meeting--that we won't be attending.. we had so many doubts it was impossible for us to continue living the lie.

  Hi Janey214,

  Take an academic approach. As questions and make sure you get answers that can verified by unbiased sources.

  Look at the history of JW's, again look at various sources before coming to any conclusions. You will some people on this site very biased either for or against, that makes it a useful site to identify the questions that should be asked. Once you know the questions research them yourself. Be a "Borean".

  How could have Rutherford been a 'drunk'?

  i feel that the apostate's claims that rutherford was a drunk to be far fetched.

  on the one hand, they claim that he was so drunk that the brothers at bethel shipped him to san diego to beth sarim, where he stayed drunk out of his mind, then on the other hand, they claimed that he ruled the society with an iron fist, that he was a dictator.

  no drunk could have ruled the society like a dictator.

  WHERE in the bible does it say each creative day was 6,000 years? Ending around 1975??

  could be 8,000 or 18,000 years long......if to jehovah each "a day is like a thousand years and a thousand years a day.

  " 1975 armagedon theory was based on this.

  {notice how this theory has since died off} my wife was told off by an elder for giving a talk on "creative days not 24 hours" but not stating each was 6,000 years long...she said she didn't believe it....he backed off and said okay then!
