Did anyone learn the truth from having their prayers answered by a knock at the door and then eventually leave the JWs?
by truthseeker ini know of one person who had a difficult life, prayed for help, got the knock at the door, got baptized and eventually left the jws believing they were a cult.. has this happened to any of you?
and if so, did you still feel your prayers were answered at that time?.

This apparently happened to my mother. She was suffer from post-natal depression and was expecting me. She was scared of the hippy movement, the drug culture and the perceived break-down of respect for authority that was occurring in the mid-sixties......so she prayed for direction. Lo and Behold they came-a-knocking and our family was fucked from that moment on. -

Instructions from the Old Elder's Book
by John Aquila inlast night i was looking over the notes on my old elders book and one of the instructors told us to write this down.
"when you want to get the friends to believe and obey anything, just keep saying it over and over and over and eventually they will believe it and follow whatever they are being told.
when i went back to school, i learned this quote in one of my world history classes..

We judged it as fornication because the dancer's genitals touched his lap and we gave her permission to divorce him scriptural.
That's frickin' hilarious......well it is until you realize that we (unqualified in anyway) as elders made decisions that could totally screw up other people's lives.

It seems other religitards are refusing to do their job ..............
A Muslim flight attendant has filed a discrimination complaint against American airlineExpressJet after she says she was suspended for refusing to serve alcohol to passengers.
Charee Stanley, who converted to Islam two years ago, says it is against her faith to drink, buy, serve or even carry alcohol, and that she just wants to be able to do her job with the airline while honouring her beliefs.Link +1 / -0 -

Do you find it hard to be around active JW's now?
by EdenOne ini do - actually, it's become close to unbearable.. and herein lies the paradox: i tried to fade in the illusion that i might keep contact with family and friends still "in".
was it worth it?
because not only most of them shun me anyways, but i find it almost unbearable to be around them, especially when the cult chit chat kicks in: every cute animal video clip triggers endless comments about glimpses of the future paradise and how "god did it"; those greasy praises to the organization and the governing body; the dumb awe about every jw broadcast and those cheesy music videos; the endless drivel against other religions when one knows perfectly well that we're no better than them; the endless flow of "experiences" of field service or spectacular conversions into "the truth"; the relentless congregation gossip; and so on .... i ask myself: is this why i am fading for ...?
