does anyone have any speculation about who started these jw myths?.

AK - I want to put it down to the imagination of a 5 - 6 year old child.
My brother had an experience when he was 6. My parents bought a second hand Arm chair for our room (I was 4 at the time, I slept through the whole incident) it was bought from a house where the occupant had died and the executors were selling things off. My brother was lying in bed and saw a little round man materialise from the chair. It jumped on his bed and tickled his feet. He screamed like a pig being castrated with a blunt knife.
My father was never a witness and just put it down to his imagination. My mother blamed it on the Chair. It must have been demonised, The owner was probably a spiritualist or something. She instructed my father to break the chair up and burn it. Again the story goes it didn't want to burn.
This story lives on our family and I believed that it must have been Demons until I was in my Teens.
The only difference here to Jeff's story is his cousin wasn't influenced by dubdom, whereas my brother would have had the creepy Paradise Lost book and my mother slowly brainwashing him. But any 6 year old mind is very imaginative.

AK - I know where you are coming from, I think I am now Agnostic. I much newer to this than you, and am still very confused.
The one thing that still worries me are wicked spirits. I think it is just brain washing, my mother is and always has been scared of Demon. I have tried to brush this off as superstition, everything can be rationally explained. But when someone like yourself, who comes across as completely rational with clarity of thought, talks about things like taps turning themsleves on, lights flashing on and off etc. I do start wondering if where I stand on the issue.

OK Yahoo answers has a rational explanation
"The planchette (moveable piece that you put your hand on) moves around and selects letters (or the words "yes" and "no") as a result of people's unconcious hand movements. It works because of subconcious muscle movement known as the ideometer effect. If the board really was dangerous, Parker Brothers wouldn't have been allowed to sell it for so many years. Notice that no one has successfully sued them."

AK-Jeff - You are now freaking me out. Does your families experience mean there are Demons? I have spent the last month convincing myself there are not. Whay would it spell
J-E-H-O when asked gods name? S*!t - someone explain this without demons and mythology.
