  Who owns the Watch Tower Society & the Watchtower Bible & Tract Society

  who is the legal representative of both the above parties?

  also, can someone post the definitions of what both organisations do?.

  i am especially inerested in their response as to whether the governing body is god's channel of truth, leading the members of the congregations, the sum of whom cumulatively make up jehovah's organization.

  if so, why, and on what basis..

  AE try telling an Elder that you are visiting site, you will be told in no uncertain terms that you shouldn't be. When you are warned of the dangers of something by the WTS, it is not optional to avoid it, it is compulsary.

  when you where at the demon hall, did you ever get a talk about how easy it was to serve jehovah?.

  i was having a conversation with a friend recently about this and i wrote down what is expected of a jehovah's witness;.

  go to 4 meeting per week.

  You forgot preparing for and sitting on Judicial Committees, Sisters crying down the phone at you because they guilty about some minor "sin" they have committed, looking out for opportunities to snitch on your friends and of course all the additional cleaning, Ironing and personal care to make sure you and your House / car are fit to represent Jehovah.

  It certainly IS hard work, stressful and tiring serving the Brooklyn publishing boys.

  well- you knew this was coming next after the article of how to be jesus friend.

  so the wt society was setting it's members up to seek friends only in the ranks of jehovah's witnesses.

  basically in this article " maintaining friendships in a loveless world " - even from the title you get the impression the wt is showing that the world is loveless- but the jehovah's witnesses are not.

  Very interesting. I have not read the article myself yet and probably won't. But here's an interesting conversation I had with one of my" true" friends the other day.

  A bit of background first. I have been missing lots of meetings recently and have asked to be relieved of assignments due to personal difficulties associated with a downturn in business. This has been quite noticable and compounded by the fact that I don't answer up in the way I used to.

  A friend of mine thought he would encourage me by phoning up he started by saying something.

  "I am sorry you are feeling the effects of the recession, I appreciate what you are going through, it must be hard." (Yep, state the obvious! But at least he appreciates the situation).

  He then went on,

  " I have known quite a few brothers who have had similar issues, they found that by relying on Jehovah things have turned out well in the end. In fact most of them found if they used the additional time they found to do more, some even auxillary pioneered they were blessed for their efforts."

  (So rather than proactively looking for new clients, I should spend more time knocking doors looking for doorstep bible studies with the "Bible Teach" book and my problems will be solved. I must write a sales and marketing book based on that premise.)

  It got even better then........

  "Cantleave do you think doing less at the meetings and not demonstrating your faith by answering is the best approach to gaining Jehovah's favour and blessing? I think you should throw your burden on Jehovah and see how he blesses you"

  (Yep practical wisdom from a true friend).

  I have known this guy for 15 years. He only really befriended me about 6 years ago, when I was appointed an Elder. He is really critical of anyone who seems to be worldly in anyway, woe betide anyone who buys a new Car, a boat or who seems to be doing too much work or recreation. He can see that my priorities are changing, and is trying to get me to conform to his concept of what a "spiritual person" is. When I am seen not to be following his advise and give my letter of resignation in, do you think he will stand by me as a loyal, true friend? Hmmmmm.

  Peddling Literature Outside the King-dumb Hell

  yesterday, i walked up to the barber shop for a haircut.

  that walk takes me by the local hall.

  in front of the entrance were two attractive young ladies sitting behind a table loaded with watchtower propoganda.

  Marketing. Will Dr. Dean Edell get through to JWs?

  dr. dean edell cited a dutch study on his show today that indicated a 6 times increased risk for maternal death in pregnant jws.

  i could tell he wanted to let loose on a major tirade but then bit his tongue.. .

  i wonder if this headline will have any impact on still-in jws who buy the idea that blood-free medicine is not only pleasing to god but in fact is the safer course of action.. .

  Articles like this would be seen by most JW's as another attempt by Satan's world to undermine Jehovah's law and persecute those who want to take a faithful stand for Jehovah. The brainwashing would hit home, "Blood doesn't save lives, who's to say they wouldn't have died if they accepted a blood transfusion" or "If I die faithfull in this system I will be blessed with everlasting life in the new system". You can't get through to the mjority, but hopefully some will wake up smell the coffee when reading articles such as this.

  does anybody else get mad, when something rotten in the borg is exposed, and witless apologists question the motive of the whistleblower?.

  "they must be an evil apostate filled with anger and an axe to grind" they say.. why can they never admit that some people believe that the wtbts is truly dangerous and evil - they are not speaking up about the facts they know because they are evil resentful apostates, but they truly want to protect the public.. they refuse to acquiesce in evil and want to stand up for what they believe to be right, not just as an anti-jw knee jerk reflex.

  do jws honestly think that nobody but them has good motives for exposing religious hypocrisy - including that of the witchtower?.

  You can never win, they are either being persecuted or tested by Satan, or if bad things happen in the congregation it is Jehovah exposing things and refining the brotherhood.

  soft sentences for child killers has sparked prison protest plans.. around 100 people are expected to turn up at the demonstration outside low newton prison in county durham, where notorious inmate tracey connelly has been caged for her part in the death of her son, baby p.. the protest by the abused babies and children (abc) foundation was prompted by revelations connelly, her boyfriend steven barker and his brother jason owen have launched appeal bids against their sentences.. peter connelly, baby ps real name, died after suffering months of abuse.. haringey social services, doctors and the metropolitan police all failed to remove him from his mothers care despite evidence he was being abused.. tracey was ordered to be held indefinitely a minimum of five years after pleading guilty to a charge of causing or allowing the death of a child or vulnerable person and was transferred to low newton prison after receiving death threats in styals womens prison, cheshire.. as it emerged connelly had lodged an appeal, the abc foundations organiser mandy francis, 52, said: we were disgusted with the sentences handed out to these killers and then they decided to add insult to injury by appealing against their sentences.. we want to help get peter the justice he deserves and for the government to realise that people are fed up with the paltry sentences handed out by the courts in cases like this.

  life should mean life.. the abc foundation, who will stage their protest on october 4, are also furious connelly, barker and owen could be given new identities for their protection.. barker, who was also convicted of raping a two-year-old girl, was jailed for life with a minimum of 10 years for the rape and a 12-year sentence for peters death.

  God what people do to shorten their sentences. If he is serious about his new found faith he should be feel comfortable with the idea that he spend the rest of his sentence in Jail. He should be grateful because if he was under Isrealite law he would be dead now, stoned to death, but even that would be too good for him. This guy is unrepentant, sadistic, remorseless, and deserves to rot in Jail for the rest of his life.

  Interesting point. Also raises the question if he is omnipresent and omnipotent why did the thought ever cross his mind because he must have known about Noah all along.
