Interesting, Your assumption maybe right. We have our CA in a couple of weeks, it will be interesting to see if the same age restriction is given here in the UK.

New Age Requirement for MTS
by garlic81 inat our 2 day circuit assembly this weekend they made an announcement for those interested in attending the ministerial training school to meet with the do & co at 9:20 behind the stage this morning.
they said that there is a new revised age requirement, and it is 62 or older.
he again clarified 62 or older, single, and a ministerial servant or an elder.. do you think they feel they've put enough young brothers through the school and now they want old retired individuals who they can send anywhere?

by whyizit ini invited a jw friend of mine to a christian retreat, and she did go.

A good dub will never attend a gathering of folks from "Babylon the Great" so she is being disobedient and has commited a disfellowshipping offence.

Castration anybody...?
by Rabbit inpersonally, i would have no problem with this law.
if they want to 'rejoin' society, this should be a condition of their release.
i do not understand why human rights groups would be more concerned about these dangerous criminals...more...than children.. what do you think?.

It will not be 100% effective as some abusers are motivated by violence and control more than a sexual desire. But saying that, if stops a few from re-offending that is still a postive outcome.

The Value of JWN (and more importantly) YOU.
by AllTimeJeff ini find it interesting how some jw's, (in disobedience to the gb) come here, and either try to present former jw's as "bitter", etc.. or sometimes, they try to pass off the bullsh*t of the gb as chocolate pudding, and say that jw's can indeed question, go on the internet, question even the gb, and sometimes, you can actually disagree and still be a jw!.
wow... thats a new one.
i really hope any lurkers here will take up the apologists on their offers.

This site showed me there is a way to fade from the borg with support from others who have been through it. It also helped me realise that I have been immersed in culture composed of corrosive teachings and discipline / reward mechanisms designed to make me feel guilty in order to preserve an affiliation to a false prophet.
This was the first "APOSTATE" site I was drawn to because it is eas to use, is populated by sound reasonable people (with a few exceptions), and doesn't try to frighten you out of the Borg with sensational headlines or scary themes and graphics.
I would like to thank all the mods and managers of this site for making it work so well.

Recent Example of Molestation Policy
by xelder inin the 80's a very righteous elder in our congregation was caught molesting his 2 stepdaughters.
he was df'd.
within 5 years he was 60 miles down the road serving as an elder in another congregation.

What if a 19 year old gets in trouble with his 17 year old girlfriend? Should the congregation view him forever as a molester?
We had just this situation in our congregation, a 17 year old boy (over age of consent)and 15 year old girl (under age) were judicially reproved for immorality. Now, 9 years later they are both married (to different partners) and he is reaching out for MS. The branch have said it isn't an issue to recommend him as the age gap of two years didn't class him as a danger to children even though she was underage at the time. I totally agree with this, he is in no way a peadophile and is a great guy. It is a shame he hasn't seen through the JW scam yet.

How much would the WBTS owe you?
by Joshnaz inif you calulated the amount of time you spent preaching, the money you have given to them, plus time developing talks, with a commision for each watchtower, awake, and other books sold.
how much would the wbt$ owe you?.

I've been lucky, I met my wife though the organisation. The best thing that ever happened to me was meeting and marrying her and the wonderful kids that have resulted from our marriage.
As for the the time and energy I have wasted serving the Borg - I couldn't even start to calculate what they would owe.
Do the 2 statements above cancel each other out? I suspose only if I can get my wife out and completely free her, my kids as well as myself.

Prejudice in the Kingdom Hall.
by Joshnaz inhave you ever noticed how in the kingdom halls who have a mix of races, you find the whites sit in one area of the kingdom hall, and the blacks have their own section?
the district conventions and circuit assemblys too.
i've noticed one particular section where there were just black people who made up about 20% of the dc and the rest were white.

My experience has always been positive in the UK. No segregation or predudice especially in KH's in cosmopolitan cities such as Birmingham and London.
