Hep C blood re-circulated: report
Blood believed to be infected with the potentially fatal hepatitis C virus was deliberately put into Australia's blood system, a newspaper reports.
The Sydney Morning Herald said many people assumed that the blood plasma, collected from suspect donors for a few months after screening was introduced in February 1990, was not to be used.
Instead, it was turned into medical products used by thousands of hospital patients and haemophiliacs, the paper said.
It said the decision was made by officials from the federal government, the Commonwealth Serum Laboratories and the Red Cross in the belief that the virus could be killed, but was reconsidered and reversed after only a few months.
Medical experts and public interest advocates said such use of that blood would today breach all internationally accepted standards for blood safety, the paper reported.

Oh, sorry, thought I was a JW for a moment.. Interesting how there are double standards here... If it's something they don't like to hear (Such as the padophile stuff, it's a satanic media report, and NOT to be believed.. Oh, on a serious note, it is certainly YOUR right to refuse blood, and this is a legitimate reason to do so. Would you still feel the same way if the GB announced tomorrow that transfusions were scripturally supported (along with the scriptures that prove their new stance, of course?). I wonder if then you would be looking for articles that showed how blood transfusions saved lives.. After all, you have a better shot at being killed in a car than you do with a blood transfusion.. I assume you avoid cars, also! (oh, that's right, those statistics can be found from SATANIC sources, and as such are not to be relied upon.. (Unless of course we agree with them, then the satanic sources are ok))...
In fact, this is kinda like the way the society treats secular history and bible chronology.. Take one date from historical chronology that you believe, work your formula's into it, come out with an entirely different date for the destruction of Jeruselam, and then denounce historical records, even though the methods used to 'prove' the date of the destruction of Jeruselam is the same method used to prove the date as the one that you believed and took for a reference point to come up with your 1914 year.
The same selective acceptance of facts to support your own agenda only...
Remember, Jehovah HATES unequal scales... Here is an example of a few for ya... !!!

he's the elder that performed the marriage between my wife and i. a couple of days ago he happened to see her and had her give me the message to give him a call.
i still like/love the man as a man, so talking to him is not a problem.. i suggested we meet in a restaurant around the corner from his house.

Does he keep his own children away from the pedophiles? If so, does he only do so in situations when he is around, or does he instruct his wife to do so, or even tell his children to keep away, thus hinting at something wrong with the person?
If he thus warns his wife and children, he should wran the entire congregation. Or everyone should be an elder.

in another thread i posted the following thought, but i wanted to post this for everyone to see and give their input.. the argument that 'truth' never changes holds no water.
according to random house webster's dictionary, 'truth' is defined as follows,"conformity with fact or reality".. the word 'conform' is defined as,"to bring into agreement".. if 'truth' never changes, then how can something taught in science that is considered to be 'exact', later be corrected by 'conforming with fact or reality so as to bring into agreement'?

I wasn't aware of these (as you can guess, I'm NOT a bible scholar, to say the least) . I guess that would mean that in
1914,1918,1925,1941, and 1975 when Jehovah uttered through his 'prophet' that the current system of things was about to end, I guess Jehovah looked down upon the earth and saw alot of people who were good in his eyes, and showed Mercy by not ending the world... Maybe the last days aren't upon us afterall :-)
Of course, I have no idea how to 'explain' the last example, as the 'slave/prophet' of today seem to utter anything they want and then change it later without even an apology for any damage they have done to the flock. Seems not only irresponsible on the part of the 'slave' to speak presumtiously but also doesn't seem like they are actually protecting the flock by uttering words that they have not PROVEN themselves first when they know the flock will interpret it as truth! (as they are expected to do)
And I am at quite a loss to explain how the 'slave' can go back and forth on 'truth', as is the example with the ressurection of the people of Sodom and Gommorah (It's a Yes/No/Yes/No/Yes/No type answer)... Maybe Jehovah was confused? Was having a bad day, and just whimsikly changed his mind over and over again?
Maybe WholeWheat can answer my questions...

Are you stating that the 'truth' that Jehovah spoke through his word, the bible, changes? Show me 1 example in the bible where Jehovah changed what he said he would do, and therefore didn't give absolute truth, and later had to correct himself.
Also, science deals with hypothesis, etc.. Until something can be proven it cannot be called the 'truth' or an absolute (doctrine) in scientific terms.But once they can PROVE something, it is no longer open for debate, the 'truth' has been found.. For instance, 2 + 2 equals 4; that is simple fact, a TRUTH that cannot change!!!! Consider that a doctrine if you will!!! It cannot change!!!! If someone told you that 2+2 suddenly equaled 5, you would call them a liar! For you KNOW that it not correct, and you can PROVE it!!!
Bringing that to a religious/spiritual connotation;
You KNOW that there was a biblical FLOOD, and that NOAH and his family survived, along with the animals. You KNOW this to be TRUTH because it says so in the bible, and we accept the BIBLE as GOD'S INFALLABLE WORD!!! This fact cannot change unless you disbelieve the bible. This is a BIBLICAL TRUTH. And the reason we can call it a truth is because we believe the bible to be the inspired word of God, and god only speaks in TRUTH! If you suddenly believe that God does not speak in absolute TRUTH, or that the bible is not inspired by such ABSOLUTE TRUTH, then you cannot even be certain that there was a FLOOD, let alone the story of NOAH and the ark.
So, can you tell me just one TRUTH (doctrine) that your organization holds that CANNOT change? I.E. If the organization changed it, you'd say, you are wrong, and that I am DA myself because you cannot be speaking for god, as that cannot change, I know that to be the truth.. ??? After all, they are representing God, and after 120 years or so, you'd think by now that they would have at least a few doctrines that they know to be absolute truth, and cannot change!

I was watching a show on Discovery channel about this very topic..
I believe it was in the state of Texas (or California, I forget) where they are trying this very (chemical) solution. Convicted rapists and molestors who are due to get out early because of parole are required to take the chemical castration drugs until their parole is up, and their complete term is served. They said that they were conducting a study to see if it helps, as about 95% of all rapists/molestors end up back in jail within 2-3 years for committing the same crime(s) again once they are released..
I think they said that the 'early' results of this test were positive, in that the number of offenders repeating their past behaviour was signifigantly less than the average.
Oh, and I agree, I wouldn't want any law that would say you must endure physical castraition, simply because it could not be reversed if there was a mistake (and we all know that humans are imperfect, and make mistakes)...

Surely you aren't judging without confirming the facts for yourself, are you?
