The scientific approach to "holy books"
by behemot in"remember, always, young man, that science which has become a great power in the last century, has analyzed everything divine handed down to us in the holy books.
after this cruel analysis the learned of this world have nothing left of all that was sacred.
but they have only analyzed the parts and overlooked the whole, and indeed their blindness is marvelous.

Amish have it all figured out.
There are Amish around here. I hear that they can buy property from an outsider, but can not sell to an outsider. They don't have electricity, or anything gas powered. They can not own power equipment, but they can use yours as long as you pay for the fuel.

"Genesis" spankings
by donny ini recently met a woman here at work (a contractor) and discovered she is an ex-jw.
eventually we got around to telling why each of us left the religion.
she said the main reason for her was not doctrines, but because she was tired of the physical and emotional abuse she received.

I can't get past the bitterness.....
by desib77 ini don't know why but lately i have been so intolerant of people.
i find myself bitter when people spew nonsense as if it is fact (political, religious, etc........).
i went on a girl's weekend with a good friend of mine (non jw) and everytime she started talking about how blessed she is and how god put stuff on her heart i felt ill. i feel ill just telling you about it.. so, am i the only one feeling bitter these days??

I know what you mien there is a thorn in the bush any where or anything you try to do.
I was helping my elderly Mother, doing all the work while home care providers got all the money. I tried to change that, and it offended some one, and was reported for elderly abuse. That was a lot of crap but I managed to keep my cool some how, and now that is over.
Now my Mother is in a nurse home, and I am surounded by people dieing around me.
Every one has problems.
