for my birthday, my daughter (who works for apple) got me an iphone.. yes, i was using an old motorola flip-phone until now...like a geriatric captain kirk.. and i wondered why people had been giving me those strange looks before.... .

anyway, imagine my reaction to the mammoth technology contained in an iphone.. talk about a miracle, this qualifies.. i'm particularly impressed by the onboard gps.

i can type in a destination and the phone already knows exactly where i am and will plot a destination map onscreen.

I like tools so I downloaded a level it is a free download, can also have tape measure or sliding ruler, lots of carpenter tools, measure a window on a multiple story building from far away, just installed voice2text and can record a message and send it email in writing without typing, but it missunderstands some words or maybe I don't talk well. Like to try the speed senser.

I think they can do just about anything with it.

Scratch and sniff would be killer...

Question for those who know

as you all know i am not the sharpest tool in the ice box, the old lady is!.

can anyone tell me if it is in the elders book that is says if an elder commits serious sin doesnt report it and is found out, but, has the respect of the congregation it is assumed it is forgiven?.

also, one comment i read states that elders were told to destroy certain files when the data protection act came out in britain, what were those files and does anyone know anything about it?.

This thread reminds me one time this elder made a comment in a book study about when following rules from the wts, that elders should abide so as to set an example, this same elder was seen by several of us running around town alone with a member of the opposite sex.

Elders mating call... "It's o'kay honey, I am an "ELDER" and no one knows what goes on behind closed door's"

Conspiracy and all that is just giving people too much credit they are not intelegent enough to agree with one another and could not get people to agree enough to reach a campain against world power then there is the issue of natural desasters, floods, earth quakes, hurricanes, etc., etc., and maybe something come along man never heard of. Man can not even predict the weather.

Don't worry about tomorrow, tomorrow will have it's own problems, and would not have near the problems the world has if everyone would just quit worrying...

Some people just have too much time on theit hands, not me, I have to work for a living, besides what can you do about it? Can you add another cubit to your life? Probably substract a few cubits from your life worrying all the time.

i was interested to read the life story of leonard smith in the latest april 15th watchtower (now available for download at www.jw.org).

it's not every day i notice a brit getting to relate his life story in the literature, so this peaked my curiousity.. i chuckled to myself when i stumbled on the following anecdote on page 21:.

is it just me, or is that not just a thinly-veiled way of saying "shut up with your moaning, and get back to work!"???.

Don't know who this brother Knorr is but he probably on welfare and or lives intirely on donations. Let him work by the job and if he doesnt't get paid until the job is done and done right he doen't get anything and see if he still thinks the same...

Igot2beme, you mentioned you have private property signs up on your property. For me I tried that just to get any people to quit bothering me so I can get some work done and it only made stupid people ask more questions, so I got the JW's to help me put a fense up with a gate and I locked it with them on the outside and just don't answer the door when I don't want to be bothered. You can not tell people what to do, it only makes them mad. People do not know how to read signs...
