If you are living right now in Ukraine, maybe yes, its probably the worst year at least in your lifetime. Globally speaking though, there were still plenty of worst years in history.
Seen the video a while ago, found it very interesting too.
jws believe that today, the time we live in is the worst time ever in history.
i know cause i just had a jw tell me yesterday this was the case.
he pointed to covid, the russian-ukraine war, the high gas prices and the food shortage happening.

good morning,.
when it comes to the question of free will, any jw will ascertain the existence of free will as needed for any moral issue regarding god, the bible etc.
without free will the whole foundation of what their belief is based on will collapse.. now atheists, at least thats my understanding, deny also the existence of free will.
Good morning,
when it comes to the question of free will, any JW will ascertain the existence of free will as needed for any moral issue regarding God, the bible etc. Without free will the whole foundation of what their belief is based on will collapse.
Now atheists, at least thats my understanding, deny also the existence of free will. If everything is just governed by natural laws, then it will follow its course, there is no superiorty of human conscience, as it followed just the evolving species, and may only be an illusion, and one knowing a current state is able to predict the future (Demon of Laplace).
One example of a scientists viewpoint:
You don't have free will, but don't worry. - YouTube
Now JW agree with atheist in one matter, that there is no soul surviving human death, humans are only made of "dust". So if humans are only made of atoms and moleculs, which are subject to laws of Physics, were is the free will located then?
A dilemma even for some PIMI witnesses I talked to (at least the thinkers among them).
Also quantum physics do not provide a way out, since unpredictability does not equate free will.
What are your ideas?
2022-02-17-- watchtower defense manuals on the loss of state support in norway.. .
the english manual is 32 pages long and the norwegian manual is 40 pages long.
both manuals are in this file folder.. .
57. The congregation has no control over how the individual in the congregation applies biblical principles to stop associating with him. It is up to each individual in the congregation to use their personal religious conscience to determine whether or not they want to limit contact with a person who has withdrawn, just as they would relate to a person who is disfellowshipped. The religious community does not control, nor can it control, whether those who belong to congregations answer calls from someone who has withdrawn, drink coffee with them, eat a meal with them, or greet them on the street. Each individual in the congregation who limits or ceases to socialize a person who has withdrawn, does so voluntarily and of his own volition, based on their own religious conscience.
This is an outright lie, hope they don`t get away with it. Somebody send them a copy of the Shepherding book, where it clearly states, that if you have association with someone dfd, who is not your relative, you get a JC and possible dfd yourself.
It really puzzles me how someone being a JW (assuming this was written at least with agreement of a JW) outspokenly tells untruth like that. Its not like, well ambigous, or matter of interpretation, this is clearly false. What kind of conscience do those people have ?
has anyone heard any word on active witnesses inside the ukraine and what has been happening with them the last week or so?
i checked the official org website but there was just the expected "fulfilling bible prophecy" stuff.
perhaps someone here has bethel contacts who have leaked some info on what the gb is trying to do for these victims of putin's madness?.
For JW (not only them) its very simple: Anything positive = Gods blessing, anything negative = Satans attack..
anyway, JW or not, I feel for the innocent people in Ukraine...and hope death and suffering will end soon for them,, but I fear different...
should we refer watchtower as to a online religion now?
i mean we could discuss if they ever return to kingdom hall's in the future.
if most of them haven't been sold.
If they ever really considered it, the pandemic would be a welcome boost for it.
However, even most JW I talked to, wish to stay at least partly on zoom, some really miss the personal contact (mostly either the weird ones or the single ones) .
However, the WT cares nothing what JW rank and file really want.
I believe its their absolute love for control that will prevent the WT from going totally online.
the problem is where do we go from here?
lloyd is not going to go away , he has too much to loose(money) neither will his followers go as we have seen the last few days there was hardly a drop to his membership .so what's next?
we will be branded in the same colours and because of him we won't be taken seriously anymore.
Where are the serious, thoughtful videos? I can't find any.
There are some, but most are really issues blown out of proportion. While I enjoyed some of LLoyds videos for entertainment purposes, often they were storms in a water glass. AM III buying liquor at the store? So what, looks pathetic, but I guess so I would look in such a store as well (disclaimer: I don`t care for AM III, he is an arrogant cult leader).
Lloyd did have some semi interesting interviews, thats about it.
One of the best source of information regarding JW doctrine is not any video, but can be found on jwfacts.com. There is almost all you need to know.
Rest is mostly just ranting about something...
weekend netflix binging.
this series has a sub-story of one of the detectives raised as a jw.
you can tell the details aren’t exactly correct, but the intent to show familial shunning and it’s affects are loud and clear.
Just seen the show recently, was surpirsed by the JW subplot.
It was good, that the shunning was shown, was a little upset though, with the scene, when the main character was forcefully removed from the funeral at the KH. This would not have happened, as he did not start trouble there. Its a pity, since such exaggerated depiction gives watching JW an excuse, to blame apostate lies for it.
Also later, him and his sister, if I recall correctly, talk baout being in hell, something JW don't believe at all.
Other than that, and beside the forced inclusivity scene, the other poster mentioned, not a bad show for a small country like Iceland.
remember watching it in the eighties as a teen, and thinking, omg I`ll be old by then... well....
woke up to this piece on abc news australia.. https://www.abc.net.au/news/2021-09-13/jehovah-witnesses-child-abuse-four-corners-investigations/100444320.

oh boy, didn`t you all not listen to the last talk on saturday at this years convention? The brother clearly exsplaned that this information is untruthful and basically from satan....
my studying consists of skimming the article.
this one starts with 2017 don't give up convention.
at the time i changed it to i give up.
Study made no sense, if you want to encourage to endure, use other biblical examples, Job, Moses etc, but the almighty ? come on, made even no sense to my pimi wife....
according to their won doctrine, 1000 years are one day for him, how is enduring even on the same level, despite so many other logical flaws....
