it is total propaganda, no doubt, but it was well done, I have to admit.
Even though I´m more on the rational side of issues, and I do not believe in a resurrection how JW advertise it, still the video was quit touching to me.

anyone seen the drama on friday ?.
it was about a pioneer couple, when the husband, also an elder, lost his job, and borrowed money from a fellwo elder, who apparently was considered weatlthy.. the main lesson of the drama was quite ok, even though a bit overdone, touching on the issue of gossip and false assumptions.. but there were at least two subtle lessons, whitch were quite disturbing:.
1) no matter what happens, remain pioneering.

interesting what you mentioned about the clergy class:
I used to believe also, that we have no clergy,...thats why you can just follow the bible and everyone is equal, there are no secrets, no payments to an upper class, no special treatment.
Reality? There is secret meetings in bethel down to kingdom halls, judicial comitees, letters, elder books etc,
There are many benefits for higher ups, some living like maggots in the bacon
They are treated like saints, especially memvbers of the GB.
They may not be called clergy (except when they need the term for legal reasons) but they act and live like it.
oh, and lets not forget: Its a cult, period.

totally agree with you, i was just being sarcastic by calling the working brother lazy and materialistc. But thats how the org wnats us to view them, so they at least out of guilt support pioneers financially. the whole drama was a perfect example of manipulation.

But there were at least two subtle lessons, whitch were quite disturbing:
1) No matter what happens, remain pioneering. Lost your job, no money aside for emergencies ? no worry, the brothers (those lazy materialists, who do not pioneer) will lend you money and better not complain about it. Paying them back ? well, whenever...just keep pioneering...
2) older ones, you do not keep pace with the orgs propgress in the use of technology? save up your pension and buy a computer, congo will teach you how to use it, so we (org) do not have to worry about you and print costly magazines...
This seems to be in line with two major thrusts of the org: push pioneering and use of jw.org
wow...just wow!.
this article to be studied next week, is one of the most distorted articles on the subject of showing love....or as jesus stated: "the golden rule" matt 7:12. instead of looking at what it means to show love to members of the community, it is purely designed for witnesses to use in the "field ministry/service".
all about how to approach people with the message etc.... they have completely hijacked the scripture and applied it to pushing the message out in service, instead of how to apply true christian principles in all aspects of one's life!.
very good point, Phizzy, never thought about that before....
a minny man in a local congregation has a beard...he was bullied by the elders to remove it.. then the co came along and told the elders to allow him to keep his beard.
(not as the result of any skin condition or anything).. i kid you not!!!.
what do you make of that?.
here, beards are rare, but even some brothers with privilges have them.
It depends on the congo, and thats what the official stance is according to my knowledge, its a decsion of the elders, the org wont get involved.
so, what is the discipline, if any for a blood transfusion?.
as you quoted: " the committee should obtain the facts and determine the individual's attitude"
this is basically what any JC does, first investigate to find out the facts, then determine true repentance or lack of it.
so, what is the discipline, if any for a blood transfusion?.
even a DA needs three elders to sit and decide, of course in absence of the person, which does not hinder a JC, for example, when there is evidence of someones wrongdoing, even if he does not appear in front of a comitee, it still needs three elders to decide the DF, same with DA.
so, what is the discipline, if any for a blood transfusion?.
and don`t forget, also a DA calls for a judicial comitee, with or without the accused one. There is no difference in handling and consequence in DF or DA, its just the name in order to deceive media, officials or whoever outside the cult.
i remember years ago when i was a little boy aroung 9 years old, our bookstudy conductor was in the hospital and at the last minute one of the elders asked my aunt to be the book study conductor.
this was the first time i have seen this happen.
my aunt did a very good job and the bookstudy acted as it was not something from outer space.
kinda sick isn`t it ?
It still amazes me, how some sisters, who are well educated and have a well respected job, are treated like people of second class in the kingdom hall, and they let it happen....
