Just Got Back From My First Assembly " Take Refuge in Jehovah! "
by losthusband inthought i'd start a new topic on my experience.................... just got back from the above assembly.......... here is my take on my first and last assembly.
9:40 song and prayer - half the people were still in the toilet...and no one was singing, i didn't have a song book (i am worldy you see!!
) so i just stood and stared at the odd looking fella on the stage miming, rather than singing!.

Baptism & Blood Cards
by losthusband inhi all.. (unfortunately) my step-daughter will be getting baptised in a few weeks.. as she knows i am strongly against this she will not discuss any of the procedures etc.
with me.. could someone fill me in as to what the actual procedure is?.
also what happens about the "blood card" she has to carry, is this given once baptised or would she already have one....again this is a sore point between us........she is only 17..... is this card legally binding as she is officially a minor?.

and then say that jehovah has given them all the knowledge they need in awake magazines.. not much seeking required there.....try going to library......ooops forgot... they would find out the real truth then!!.

Anyone here from the North West of England!
by losthusband inas i continue my research to enable me to help my family see that they are not actually in "the truth", i am am looking to meet with a "real-life" ex jw, or at least converse with one via email etc.. it does appear that there are some differences in organisational rules/regulations/enforcement across the world, so i would like to speak to someone who is local and familiar with the uk set up.. i don't have any particular questions etc.
at the moment, it would just be nice to have a friend who i can ask help from and maybe even offer some support myself.......maybe even buy them a pint!!!.

1914.....1919......Where did these dates come from?!?
by losthusband inwhilst trying to discuss the history of jwism with my family, the 1914 and 1919 dates were brought up!.
is there a definitive topic/article which discusses these dates?.
i have heard talk of pyramids, and no scriptural basis at all.
