The WTS owes $50 million to the government for fees related to being a religious org. Of course the WTS is fighting it in court.

That is the greatest love you can give your dear sweet pet, letting her go peacefully. I feel for your pain. I have been there myself. I still miss my little Jasmine kitty. My thoughts are with you.

I am a little sad today. I lost my job yesterday. I have only worked at this job for 8 months and my position was eliminated. At least I got 3 weeks of severance pay. I had a very good job for 24 years but I lost it last August. Everyone says I am a wonderful employee, then how come I have lost 2 jobs in less than one year? I am sure everything will work out fine eventually, but for now it really sucks.

...People who "Pretend to be Jehovah`s Witness`s"...
by OUTLAW injwn is thought provoking!..
this board is a very interesting place to be.....if you are a jw.....were a jw.....are thinking of becoming a jw.....like jw`s.....hate jw`s.....or..like pretending to be a jw..lol!!.
"pretending to be a jw",will be the subject for this thread... we have aready met people on this board, who have no problem pretending to be jehovah`s witness`s and support the wbt$......but..have no interest in following the wbt$..or.. doing any of the hard work it takes to be a jehovah`s witness... i have met people like this,in real life... have you ever met people in "real life" that:.

A woman that I used to pioneer with is now a hard core meth addict and prostitute who advertises on Craigslist, will not drink out of a coffee mug that has a Christmas tree on it because she is 'not comfortable drinking from a mug with a pagan symbal on it'. For years she has been saying she is coming back to the truth any time now. She is rather snotty to me because I try to convince her that it is not the truth. I am not good association for her because of my apostate views. But if I was a good ole' boy with a $20 bill and wanted a BJ, she would be my friend for 10 minutes. Who knows? Maybe she is actually Reniaa.

I had one of those discussions this weekend - Am I getting anywhere?
by BonaFide inlast week during bible highlights, a sister commented on leviticus 19:28 about not having a tattoo.
i also commented, saying that we are not under the law, but the principle should be taken into consideration.. a sister i don't speak with very often called me.
she is in the same congregation as some of my family.

I like to read about your conversations you have with others. Keep 'em coming! But she sure summed it up....'we can get into trouble if our research is negative towards the Society'. I think most witnesses don't want to do real research because they don't what to be confronted with the possibility of finding something the WTS will not agree with.

What did you dream about doing in the "New System"?
by lurk3r inlife in the new system, did you give it much thought?
sure, we would be brought to perfection, and there would be a resurrection, but how about other things?.
in my years growing up and living as a jw, i never really thought about it that much.

The PO and his family in my congregation felt that if a person was not learning to enjoy gardening now, then they were not showing they really believed in the paradise earth where everyone would have to tend to gardens.

More Advice
by bazackward inwell i posted before and got some good advice, so i thought i'd give it another go and see what happens.. to quickly explain the situtaion: my grandma is a jw with two daughters -- my aunt (who is a jw) and my mom (who is not a jw but grew up as one).
my aunt is one of those people who reads a website like webmd and thinks she knows more than any medical doctor.
this concerns my grandma and she talked to my mom about making an appointment with an attorney to set up my mom with power of attorney.

On the internet, search for Free Medical Directive Forms. Then she can make her specific healthcare instructions legally binding. She should give a copy to her doctor and attorney as well. The doctors will follow whatever her Medical Directive indicates.

Finding Men in the Territory
by WTWizard injust when you thought it couldn't possibly get any worse, along comes the august 2009 kingdumb misery.
therein, "meet the challenge of witnessing to men" comes along.
they are whining that there are too many women and not enough men (i wonder if they are hearing about "sisters" not finding mates within the cancer, or just because they need men to run the show because they do not want women running it).. they continue with a couple of stock examples of reaching men.

My dad became a witness at a time in his life when he was 'vulnerable'. His marriage was falling apart (I later found out he commited adultery). Family counseling told him that if they were not going to get a divorce then they should find a church to join. Well, well, along came a spider witness. He was baptized when I was 13 and life as I knew it came to a complete stop. My mom studied for many years, but never went to meetings or got baptized but did promote the teachings to us kids. Even after I was D'fd at the age of 37 and I told her I was much happier she said "I don't believe you. You can't be happier if you are not a witness'. Weird since she never became one. The congregation actually had 3 elders that had unbelieving wives. I suppose if they don't bring in more men that can be trained to 'take the lead' they might have to change the rules and allow women to become 'appointed servents'.
