my mom (a jw) watched the dateline program.

i asked her the next day what she thought of it.

she told me that erica was not a jw and that is why they did not support her in court.

My mom (a JW) watched the Dateline program. I asked her the next day what she thought of it. She told me that Erica was not a JW and that is why they did not support her in court. But my mom said she could see both sides. Which, for her, is a step. Of course, she had to inform me that she was going to the meeting tonight! As if I didn't know. Here is hoping that something will sink in.

the following, from the watchtower magazine of january 1, 1997, does not support the idea that the wts is a "pedophile's paradise.

" the wts also pointedly spoke out against pedophilia over 9 years ago in the awake!

magazine of october 8, 1993. for the protection of our children, a man known to have been a child molester does not qualify for a responsible position in the congregation.

Written words do not take away the fact that there have been many cases of sexual abuse covered up. I am one of those cases. 5 years of my life were taken away and the people who did it were put on private reproof. Would you trust your child with that same 'brother' and 'sister'??? They could be sitting next to you at your next meeting. THINK about it. READ your BIBLE, NOT the literature.

i hope that dateline reconsiders airing this program on the evening most frequently used for book studies.

I told my mom about the Dateline show and her response was that it was all from "apostates" or the "evil slave class". I think that is how they will try to explain it away.

i would like to see a short description of your personal beliefs or religion today, after you lost faith in "the truth", from anyone here that feels for it.

This is something I struggle with. In the Bible, there is mentioning of a 'church'. Paul was over the 'church'. So, is there a RIGHT church out there? I have a disbelief for any organized religion at this point because of what is happening within them. So, I have NO idea what to do. I just hope that reading the Bible and praying will lead me to the right path.

why does the organization discouraged a higher education?

i had a friend in the kh that decided she'd go to college and she was looked down at for choosing that.

i'll admit, she wasn't what the witnesses call 'strong in the truth'.

Why does the organization discouraged a higher education? I had a friend in the KH that decided she'd go to college and she was looked down at for choosing that. I'll admit, she wasn't what the witnesses call 'strong in the truth'. But still, what is wrong with an education so you can obtain a better paying job? Why do they think that struggling to get by financially makes you a better christian? The KH wants donations and some of the people can't even make their bills because they are pioneers and have a very low income. That always bothered me about the WTS.

Sorry to bring up an overdone subject. I am looking forward to seeing it sooooo bad. My mom is still a JW and she is already telling me it will be the 'evil slave class' talking. ARRRRRRRRGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!

i posted my experience on this board and took for granted that some may have never heard of the jw school.

i don't know if they exist in every state (apparently not), but the one i went to is named new world education center.

all of the teachers had to be baptized jws and the principal as well.

Yep, I knew the Steelmans. Mrs. Steelman taught science, or she tried to. I did not like her because she treated us so mean in that class. Also, her mother in law attended my congregation. She was a very nice lady. But when she married a black man in the congregation, Bro. Dunn, the Steelmans stopped talking to her. Her own family was predujiced!
