I just finished talking to him and well... let's hope he ends up with elders that are liberal.
He's going to be as repentant seeming as possible, despite not really being repentant. Not totally sure if he's going to tell them or not yet. He has to talk to his GF.
He really appreciated everyone's advice and experiences and wanted me to thank everyone. I'd also like to thank everyone for helping me help him out.
He's the only friend I have in this cult who I've known for years that's an acutal friend because he's not drinking the kool-aid, so it means a lot to me that everyone helped out with so much info.

If one gets DFed and the other reproved, is there some made up JW law that lets them continue their relationship if they've been thinking about marriage or does that end their relationship until the DFed one gets reinstated?
More than likely whatever punishment the one gets, the other probably will get the same or is it all a random event dependent upon which elders are doing the judging?

Thanks everyone for your replies! Everyone is always so helpful on this forum. I'm going to share these posts with him probably tomorrow over the phone.
I'm not sure what his plans are about the cult. He's been dating his girlfriend for well over a year and he's either in love or horny young JW and the desire to move away from parents love.
He's still really young. I don't want to give out his age or too many details, but young enough that 30 yrs old is still a long ways away. I believe its this year he'll be finishing school. What he went to school for should land him a high paying job, so he has great potential to move away, make good money and fade. What all of us would do in his situation I think is obvious, but young JW love rots your brain.
Oh, and I should have mentioned, he does plan on discussing it with his girlfriend prior to going to tell the creepy pervs about the first experience of his sex life.
Dinah, I'm going to read through the posts on your thread to him also. It should give him a lot more to think about. I'm sorry you had to go through that. This organization is disgusting what it does to people.
I'd like to give more details about his exact situation, but I don't want to betray his confidence by saying too much. If someone lurking strung my posts together and realized who I was, they may be able to figure out who he is. Yes, I know I'm paranoid.

He wants to go to the elders and confess. I'm not sure of his reasons why, I mean he sees the BS of the cult. Maybe part of him still believes, maybe he feels bad because she believes in the cult, I don't know. But, I do agree its a good idea for him to do it now and get it over with. It wouldn't be good in the future if he decides to fade after he leaves home and then this issue comes up and the elders hunt him down to DF him. (He would choose fading over DF'ing to keep some family ties, so a DF'ing while trying to fade, then having to get reinstated in order to start fading again would suck).
I'm trying to figure out what to tell him it'll be like at the JC so he'll at least have an idea of the best way to put on an academy award winning performance. From what I've read in the elders manual, the difference between him getting DF'ed or reproved depends on how the elders play god and judge him based on how they feel. Is that pretty much all there is to it? Whatever he does or says, cries or doesn't cry, it doesn't really matter. He could really be repentant, but if they decide they don't feel he is, they'll DF him instead of reprove? He could also be in store for some embarrassing graphic details if these perverts decide they want to hear them? Is there also the risk of one of them getting DFed while the other just get reproved? Is it possible they'll tell him to get engaged and set a marriage date or get DF'ed?

Attorneys experienced in JWs?
by JerkhovahsWitless ini've seen jwchildcustody.com, but what i'm wondering about are attorneys that'll deal in threatening legal action against the cult, local congregation, elders, etc in disfellowshipping cases.. i think i remember seeing a letter somewhere on here that people have used?
curious about attorneys that'd get involved to make it more official and intimidating.. possibly the gears are in motion for the elders to want to meet with me due to me saying the wrong anti-jw sounding things to people who call me their friend, yet gossip to their friends, elders and jw family about suspicious sounding things i've said.
so, right now a bunch of people are sharing stories, mixing up what was actually said, adding to it and making it sound worse, and i know its going to come back to bite me soon.. in return i'm tempted to gossip about how i know certain friends are j/o'ing to internet porn, un-chaperoned dating with busy hands and drunkenness to everyone i know, but i'd probably get in trouble for slander, haha.... anyway, i'm looking to be prepared in advance if the day comes.

So, I can be apostate, family can know and keep quiet about it, but if I get officially DFed, I'm thrown out. Yeah, makes sense to me, too).

How do you feel about street people asking you for money
by I quit! inabout half of the freeway exits i get off at have someone there begging.
in the past i felt they were only hitting me up for money to by drugs or booze so i rarely handed them any.
in this economy i'm wondering if some of them aren't really in need of something to eat.

I've had a situation similar to this happen to me and both of my parents at multiple gas stations in South Florida. It seems like half of the time I'm pumping gas at night, this happens.
You're pumping gas and will be approached by someone. I've had both men and women approach me. The story is similar to something like this from every person so far.
"Hey, I'm so sorry to ask. I feel so embarrassed. Do you have any money for gas? I'm trying to get home and my car ran out of gas. I don't have any money on me. Anything you can spare would be a big help." Sometimes "I'm out of work" "homeless" "living in my car" is thrown in there followed by a sad face.
When I'm in a lazy mood, I give them change just so they'll go away. When I'm feeling a bit more frisky, I interrupt their sad story and finish it for them, followed by telling them I've heard their scam before. After they finish with me, they go to the next person and repeat the same load of BS to them.
In downtown WPB I had a bum come up to me asking for money. I had no cash, felt bad for him and gave him what change I had. He suggested I go to the ATM to get some cash for him. Yeah, sure...
So, at first I guess I was willing to give them spare change or a buck or two if I had it in my wallet. I genuinely felt bad for them. Now... not so much.
