A "Brother" wore a WT logo tie tack today
by JerkhovahsWitless inafter the meeting, a few people came up to show me some fake love like the wt lesson instructed (this is my 4th meeting in a row in over a year of not going, yuck!!).
i noticed one of them was wearing a tie tack of the watchtower logo.
its ok to idolize, by wearing, the corporate symbol of a worldwide multi-billion dollar company, but a cross is wrong?

I don't know how long he's been wearing it, but wow, talk about hypocrisy.
Since the Watchtower is God's organization/God, the WT is their mediator to God, the WT is their savior and salvation and the WT is evidence of God's holy spirit, (lol, the WT sounds like the trinity) I suppose it makes sense why someone would wear the WT logo. (If that someone was in a cult)
I wanted to bust his balls soooo bad about the tie tack, but he's genuinely a nice guy. Plus, just showing up again after not going for so long, it probably isn't the best idea to stir up trouble.
Oh, and the paragraph in today's WT about the church member who was expelled from his congregation because of a rumor going around that he was a witch, then came to Jehovah's Witnesses and experienced their love bombing and was suckered into the cult... What doublethink!
Going to meetings again has been an interesting experience. Once you don't believe anymore, each meeting makes it clearer and clearer what a bunch of hypocrites under mind control everyone is.

Today was my first time at the Kingdumb Hell is over a year
by JerkhovahsWitless ini've been to conventions, assemblies and the memorial, but not the hall in a very long time.
i would have liked to of kept it that way, but with my idiot family telling other jws from other congregations that i don't go to meetings anymore, its starting to spread around from everyone's gossip.
add that to some of the not so fond of the wt statements i've made to a few "friends" who've distorted and repeated it to their friends, and i'm looking like a real bad guy.. looking like that is causing it very hard for my one friend, who is seeing the light and wants out of the cult, to be able to talk, text message or see me in person because he lives with parents and they don't want him associating with me since i'm not going to cult meetings.

Hearing the JW vomit at meetings does sicken me, but as long as I'm able to help my friend by the end of this year make his transition on leaving the cult after he finishes school, it'll be worth it. Hopefully, I'll be able to control my facial expressions when something is said and not shake my head in disgust like I accidently did a few times at the last DC drama... Maybe I'll get some good recordings to share, too. I really want to record the WT lesson on the generation change.

Thinking About Buying Webspace
by Nosferatu indoes anybody have any suggestions about this?
i've never bought webspace before.
the main purpose is simply to host pictures and audio files.

I've been using arvixe.com for at least 5 years. They have great tech support and service. A domain name is included in the hosting. They're based in the U.S. though. They'll let you pay monthly, 6 months, yearly or 2 years. It's Linux hosting, includes Cpanel and Fantastico. If you ever need anything installed on the server that the script you're using needs, they'll do it for you. Anytime I create a website for someone, I stick them on an Arvixe account.
I have a few adult sites hosted on my account, use a few different scripts and have gone over 34.5GB data transfer in a month, so I think you'll have no problem hosting pictures and audio.

Do you know all of the Watchtower's failed predictions? I doubt it.
by TMS inas a longtime jw, i knew about 1925, 1975, the failed original expectation of 1914, etc.
in the first bible studies i conducted, we taught that the great tribulation began in 1914 but was "cut short" in 1918 on account of the chosen ones, that some flesh would be saved.
the great tribulation was said to have been in abeyance.

Thanks! I was wondering if something like this existed.

Ah, a pen recorder. That's a good idea and more affordable than a new PDA phone... I might have to go shopping now.

Looking like that is causing it very hard for my one friend, who is seeing the light and wants out of the cult, to be able to talk, text message or see me in person because he lives with parents and they don't want him associating with me since I'm not going to cult meetings. So, that's why I've decided to pop in for a meeting or two a week. The goal is to get the gossip that I'm going back to spread around, and thus giving me the ability to continue aiding my friend in the hard times that await ahead (not to mention it'll be nice to have him around for me, too). Also, I've noticed I've been getting less JW calls for my repair services. Those cash paying jobs are nice and hard to give up when not working full-time.
I got there maybe 10 minutes late today and stayed for one hour. Its was hard to hang around and listen to all of the boring crap for too long. I was glad that it just happened to be the WT lesson I remember reading about here. So, I stayed until paragraph 6 to hear the mind control and the drones comment.
I took out my cell phone and started recording for paragraphs 3-6 because I wanted to post it online. But, my cell phone is a piece of defective crap and goes into stand-by mode within a few seconds of the screen not being touched even though its set to do it in 2 minutes, so I couldn't record the meeting. Its too bad it didn't work out. Having the little kid, who's too young to read and only could repeat what his parent told him, answer that we need to obey the faithful and discreet slave would have been quality stuff to record and put online. Its hard to believe there was a time I would have sat there, read that crap and not have seen what a freakin' cult it is.
I need a new phone... recording meetings could be useful for making "apostate propaganda", and it'll give me something to look forward to on days I know I have to go to the damn meeting.

Why Christains make no sense to me, an example from Haiti...
by HappyGuy ini have some in laws who recently went to haiti to do "missionary" work at one of the churches there.
this "missionary" work basically consisted of singing and dancing and entertaining the church goers.
my relatives stayed at some houses owned by the church on the church property.

Stories like this make me want to
You'll probably get some stupid response that makes no sense, but it'll allow them to continue their delusion.

If the Watchtower truly collapsed, how would you deal with your JW relatives?
by nicolaou inimagine the best case scenario.
the watchtower society implodes from within even making final printed admissions that it is voluntarily dismantling it's mission and legally dissolving the corporations.
oh happy day!

Laugh in their face and yell "I TOLD YOU SO!!! You said I was stupid for believing in evolution, that I was going to die, I was giving up living with my family forever in a paradise, that I had it all figured out, that you have the truth, that you're not a cult, I'm being blinded by Satan, you constantly called me an atheist and apostate and in a negative tone of voice like that's something to be ashamed of. Well, where's your precious Watchtower that you've wasted over 30 years of your life following, SUCKERS?!!!"
Well, I'd like to say that anyway. I'd probably try to help them realize they were in a cult and lied to for a very long time.

Do you think they will get a new bible?
by twinkle toes ini was thinking about the fact that the society is changing all the lingo that is associated with the new world order, new system and the like.
what i was wondering is if it is important to get away from this phrasing, what are they going to do with the new world translation?
do you think they will start publishing it under a new name?
