It was fun, I got a four footer, fake one with lights. I took your advice pali and got inexpensive ornaments and a bunch of garland, your right, it does get pricey! My bff who is also a former jw is coming up for thanksgiving too and we cant wait to decorate. Butterfly, you're going to love the high it gives you. If I dont get back on here in time, I wish you all a happy thanksgiving!

I'm back! How is everyone today?!
by Butterflyleia85 insd-7, casper, isaacaustin, alltimejeff, bluecanary, chalam, snowbird, flipper, etc.. i haven't been on here for a while and just wanted to say hello.
share some news.... i'm pregnant with my first baby boy.
i haven't been going to the meetings very well recently just cause since the baby i hate living a fake life while having the responsibility of being a respectable mother.. my grandmother on my dad's side along with the rest of that side of the family wants nothing to do with me until i am a jw again and i know she still loves me and still thinks of me just has a bad way of showing it because of the shunning rule.. my jw mother and jw grandma on my mom's side are the only ones i will allow to see my baby freely because they know what true love is and still talk to me and treat me normal.. my sister i don't know what to think but i pretend she just lives to far away and has her own life.

Wow, pretty bad language for a newspaper. Unfortunately, the writer makes themselve look more like a "loser" than the Jw, although I understand their frustration with hypocrites.

Any ex-JW's going to a different church? If so, which one?
by 1Robinella insince i've been out of the jw religion, i've had no desire to attend any churches.
although i've always liked the way many churches look with the (stained glass, etc).
growing up our kh was so ugly and boring to look at.

Its such a double set of standards! Hopefully all will go well for you snap. On another board I have my picture up and it got out. So now Im known as a "big apostate" out here. How stupid. My first thought was, "what were they doing there?" I dont really care anymore what they think, I just think its hypocritical.

I HATE this religion

Dan , Im in Denver, please let me know how I can help. I may even know this "friend" of hers. If you cant afford a lawyer, neither can she. If she really plans to take the kids out of state, she could be charged with kidnapping. Personally, I would have no second thoughts about making this known to her and that anyone who helps her is an accessory to kidnapping.

Dan , so sorry you are going through this.
Though, my husband and I have been separated for a month, we are starting to talk again, pleasantly. Despite alot of pressure from others , his friends , and mine to divorce. Im not ready. Im taking it slow and if we are talking, then there is still hope. Remember she is being told to set an example for you, "if you're not strong, they 'll be nothing for him to come back to" Thats alot for someone to deal with. I noticed my husband gets real obstinate when he's gone to a meeting or service. He feels like he has to do something to get me back (as a jw, that is) he has told me that he feels this way and that if I dont come back to it, then he feels pressured to divorce me on grounds of spiritual endangerment. which I think is bs, because I never try to stop him from being a jw anyway.
Just keep things simple for your son.
