Jesus has no special role at all in the JW version of religion. So it is not really a Christian religion as such. It would be more of combining new testament thought with old testament laws to form something completely different. More so, I would say it's real thrust or perference, is Mosiac in actual practice because of the strict law requirements that the religion forces on it's members.

memorial: how do you feel?
by unanswered inthis question is mostly for those of you who still believe in the bible to some extent.
my mother-in-law called the other day to see if rileygurl and i were going to the memorial this year.
we told her that we wouldn't be attending.

The memorial, as the WTS practices, was another way for the current crop of boneheads, starting with Rutherford, to show they were different from Christian religions. And, by the fact of being different, they could claim to be "special" or practicing the true religion because they didn't do what other religions (see Catholic) did. But, the problem is, is that the Bible is really straight forward and simple about the body and blood of Christ. The Bible doesn't single out anyone to partake of the emblems. The WTS practice is a lie.

The wonderful future Christian America.
by Norm inthose of us who have frequented h2o and have otherwise encountered our fundie friends from the usa have many times been reminded of their strange arguments and ideas.
all of them seem to long back to biblical times and particularly the times of the old testament.
they have got the idea that those days were so wonderful when everybody was adhering to biblical morals, values and such.

I am not surprised that wimpy English don't travel through states in the U.S. that have the death penalty. It must really trouble them that U.S. folk don't give a crap what they think.

Always Late?
by Norm inalways late .
one of the watchtower society favorite themes is how incredibly late it is.
it is in fact always later than you think.

Soon has no real meaning for anyone in the WTS. Otherwise it would die a quick death.

So, who is the Society's STOOGE here?
by Focus inso, who is the society's stooge here?.
it goes without saying that the society uses stooges (i.e.
plants) on the web.

=:O 3Stooges here, but a real WTS stooge, I don't know. He would leave in a instance, unless he wanted to become an ex-stooge

ยท "this dwindling anointed class"...

the reports for some years show that the number partaking of the memorial emblems increased slightly.

Are we getting the "stealth" anointed now? Here's the deal. If the old boys keep finding ways to slide in a few young anointed, then the faithful and discreet ruling club, keeps on-a-ticking, and the second class citizens keep getting a lickin'. Seems like a good scam to me.

i saw farkel's recommendation to check out this site at jwd.
so, here i am.. the issues surrounding pedophiles is taking on momentum, and i just recently learned that my son-in-law's dad (a jw) was arrested for molesting a minor (not a jw).

Reasons and Questions....
by Deacon ini read very carefully isp and farkels's comments regarding why people stay/leave the organisation.
in writing that sentence, im very aware of the influence of being a member from childhood....41 years worth, behind me.. both contributors made excellent informative points from their singular perspective, although opposite in view, the parallel was on the same axis, therefore just extremes of the same understanding, sort of left and right of the same line so to speak....but it made sense to me and gave me time to think about reasons..... i am still a jehovahs witness.
no, i dont go to meetings, no i dont go out in the ministry, no i dont associate with other jw's....but the upbringing, the regimentation, the responsibilities, the mental regulating of 41 years has coded me to think, react and do in accordance with the actions of being a jw..... this is something that will take a long time, if ever to remove, and its a hard job deciding what needs to be removed, not all of the training was bad.. i still believe in jehovah.

I agree with RedHorseWoman. Also, praying directly to Jesus is pretty cool.

Sunday's Watchtower Study: Saved by Grace
by ozziepost inthis week's watchtower study article "are you living up to your dedication?
" includes this statement (para 11):.
"in any case, our salvation depends, not on anything we might do, but on jehovah's undeserved kindness [grace] through christ jesus, our lord.".
