i could automatically judge and condemn those who i didn't know and feel superior towards "worldly" people.. .

I felt worldly people were inferior to me but when i had to communicate with them i was extremly shy and a bit intimitaded. i guess because of the extreme segragation jw's have with people outside of their cult.

I generalized it to the entire population, but when it came to individuals, no. I was actually quite impressed with how nice and compassionate they were. I always thought that that person or this person should be a JW. They are so nice!

I remember many years ago being cut off by another vehicle, and i was feeling rather annoyed with the situation and thinking well he won't be getting through armageddon, a little further along the road we get to the que to enter the circuit convention parking and there 4 vehicles ahead just entering was the pr..k who cut us off LOL

What Happens After You Leave?

i'm not a witness, but i have to ask..... what happens after you leave?

do you turn against all religion or do you find another?

people say they're happy when they leave...that they feel free, but i'd hate to think that people give up on everything religious.. if you do stay religious, how many doctrines of the jws do you retain?

even as a jw i was never religious, no on leaving i have not replaced it with another faith/religion, do i believe in god? maybe, maybe not, do i believe in the teachings of the bible? no, they are mans teachings.

am i normal? what is normal?

I feel free, free from going to the KH sunday 2 hours, thursday 2 hours, tuesday book study 1 hour, the rush of finishing work at 5.30 and being at the meetings at 7. I now have sunday sleep in fantastic.

The Final Nail in the Coffin of your JW Career

i know there has been countless threads on this, some say the paedophile scandal, others say the blood ban, some say the conduct of their elders, others say the petty rules etc.

but there is usually one thing that seals every one's fate, tips you over the edge,finishes you off.i was fading, very closely to full inactivity, off the book study list, and very sporadic meeting attendance, which took me to the very last time i set foot in my kingdumb hall, this is what happened;.

it was the memorial of 1994, i hadn't set foot in the place for months, but thought a show at the memorial would keep the wife happy and the elders at bay for a bit longer, i drove to the hall being careful not to get there too early(the wife was already there and had saved me a seat) i walked up to my seat about mid way in the hall so a lot could see me, it was packed probably about 200 there, as i sat down ( about 3/4 mins to go) a sister in front of me turned around and said"we haven't seen you in a long time!

the final nail in the coffin for me was the total boredom at the meetings I couldn't take it any more, i had stopped believing along time before.

Do you regret confessing your sins to the elders?

yes, i do!

i did it 20 years ago, but the elders still remember what i did, sometimes i wish they never knew about it.

as someone who never crossed the fence, quite often i feel that i can't contribute with anything to the people who left, or who are at the fence, or who are very deep into the society and seem unreachable.

Thank you dgp that makes me me feel so good, it brings tears to my eyes.

I was born into the borg and for so long i felt isolated, confussed & pissed off in the later years, depression set in during my mid 30s & now I am 50 and I still find it difficult to relate to non jw sometimes.

My only regret is I didn't get out in my teens when I really started to believe it wasn't the truth.

Sometimes my cochlear implants will pick up faint radio sounds like music and people bantering back and forth like two dj's do. Not demuns! This stuff has metal in it and hearing aids, even, have been known to do this from time to time.

You are so right on that. refering my post about the cassette player, most likely the same thing, a real explanation thats not demunz
