I just revisited that link and realised - the book is already there on that site!!! (I'm a bit slow this morning). I'll start reading it this evening!

for all here to know, i'm not the first to write a book involving witnesses, but i do believe that i've written something which people here could greatly enjoy.
aside from being a story involving witnesses written by a youth, my book also establishes a symbol which i decree to be a counter to that of watchtower's.. you can check the book out for free at http://authonomy.com/viewbook.aspx?bookid=10802.
i plan on writing a number of novels in my time, and because of my upbrining as a witness and as a last ditch effort to help some who are close to me, i have chosen to complete this novel first.

Hi Vilot,
Glad you're out of that nasty organisation.

I'd read it. Looks interesting. When are you planning to get it finished?
I've read a few books by ex-JWs, (Crisis of Conscience, etc.), but not yet read a novel based on JW life.
What other books have you written related to JWs?
Best of luck with it.
hi, i've been lurking hear for awhile and just registered this week.
you're an interesting bunch and i look forward to getting to know you better.. i started studying with the jw's when i was 16. i was dating my husband, 10yrs my senior, and he heard they had the truth.
i was in an abusive household, so i moved in with him, studied, got married at 17 and baptised at 18.. i believed in it hook, line and sinker for 22 yrs.
Hello hun, sorry you're having a bad time
Hope you find help, support and friendship on here.
love & hugs,
Dawn
i am not the oldest but have 3 years here!
restrangled.. how about you?.
I joined the old forum 3 years ago as Do Not Call (not the poster DoNotCall). I only made 237 posts, so I wasn't well known. It's been about a year since I've posted, as I've been really busy with our company and my daughters -GCSEs etc We're still 'apostates' and still being shunned mercilessly!
Anyway, hello and hugs to everyone!!
wifey and i were talking.
she got into the cult thinking that morality is worse than ever.. i asked her..... as a women do u have more or less rights from a 100 years ago.
answer?
Hubby's patience worked for me.
I was brought up in the cult from the age of 5. I always had doubts as a kid, but I knew I couldn't investigate anything for fear of being viewed as 'apostate' and disappointing my family and friends.
Later on I married a JW and we had children who had a close relationship with my parents, so I put my doubts to the back of my mind and just carried on with JW life.
When my husband dug around on the web to investigate his doubts, he didn't try to bombard me with all his findings, he simply asked the odd question which he knew would get me thinking.
After a few months of subtle comments and questions (eg. Is the 607 date correct? paedophile issues, UN membership, scientific inaccuracy of the Bible - all the usual stuff), I finally had the courage to sneakily do some research on the web.
I just looked at him one day and said, "You're right!" We then had a few anti-studies with our little girls and explained to them how we'd got it wrong. We just faded as a family.
Good luck to you, please keep trying, but don't be too confrontational.
You just got my vote, hun. Good luck
Hubby and I (and offspring) all faded. And happy.
a higher-up in bethel informed me that in an effort to show how the society attempts to keep true to the original bibical writings, all new study articles quoting the hebrew portion of the bible must be read from right to left.. rub a dub.
Please tell me this is a joke!
do you agree that if there was no global flood, then the bible is not inspired?
here are my thoughts.. it is pretty obvious that there was no global flood 4,000 years ago.
) that there were one or more large local floods in mesopotamia around the time of noah.
One of the reasons my husband and I left the JWs was because we investigated the Global Flood!
We explained our findings to some elders who came to see why we'd stopped attending the meetings and they actually looked quite perturbed about it.
We talked about all the scientific evidence, geology, icecaps, tree rings etc. Both elders were listening intently and could not refute any of it. They said they'd do some research and come back with some answers.
They did a few weeks later. Their 'answer' to our flood problem was one sentence in a brochure which said that we know the Flood really happened because Jesus talked about it! "There's our proof!" beamed one elder, while the other stood there nodding and grinning.
They stood at the door looking really pleased with themselves, relieved that they were able to find proof of the Flood for us.
