I started reading the site about a year after I left. I was very depressed and lost about 20kilos, just walking like a zombie. Now I'd like to lose some weight but can't.
I was reading for a while before I joined, I thought there would be a bolt of lighting to stike my down if I'd join. Love all the people on here and respect that everyone has a view.

I've never told my story, just bitys and pieces. But the last meeting I attended was in 2006, my mother died, my daughter got disfellowshipped and my wife left me and no-one gave a shit. I thought I had lots of friends. Since then, with the help of this site and all the good people on here, I've done alot of research and have since remarried and am very happy not to be in the CULT.................

just to update you all that we finally fly out to australia from the uk on the 13th.
me and sleeping beauty are getting out of the sinking ship that is the uk!.

i am a born in, still in wanting to get out ms. i have refused eldership, used to pioneer and have sooo many stories.
So much good advice on here, please keep us informed as how things are going, that way it might help others.

the wts sanctions the practice of shunning or disfellowshipping of unrepentant wrongdoers.
this practice cuts the person off from not only the congregation members, but also their still believing family.
the wts backs up their action by threatening the members (congregation and family) with being df'ed themselves if they choose to associate with the df'ed person.. the claim in part is that its an act of loving discipline that may move the wrongdoer to repentance and to return to the congregation and thus to jehovah.

I think you are correct in saying that to live a happy life and enjoy your children is the best way to go. When your parents or in-laws ring and say they miss you and your family, it will show that you haven't stopped them from seeing them. They might realize it is a CULT......... so i started a reply on the topic of "what's your status?
" and it made me think about my df hearing (sorry i can't remember the exact term for what happened).. so i was fading, living in a different country, working & making rare appearances at my kingdom hall.
i was flat sharing with a sister though.
I left after my daughter got disfellowshipped and they told her she might have to move out. My wife left me and I was on my own for about a year and got close to a family friend who has always had trouble with her husband. She hadn't been and was inactive and left her hisband and we hooked up. The elders went after her(not me as they would've copped it) and disfellowshiped her. She got reinstated, for her kids as she was shunned. After she got reinstated, I rang the pompous elder that went after her and gave hima gobful. His son had been caught visiting prostitutes and when eventually found out got porivately reproved. I let him have it. I hate this CULT.........................

my husband and i have two small children, one of which recently became an unbaptised publisher and joined the school.
my husband is an elder and firmly committed to our family and loves me deeply as i love him.
i would like to find a way for all of us to fade away as we have family in the organization that we do not want to lose.

Hope you find some answers, we worry and think where else shall we go, but it is a CULT. You should have gone to the police, no-one and I really mean no-one should be abused. Keep esearching and asking questions, but look things up for yourself and check and re=check them. On this board you will find love and support, it has definitely help me.

so today we were late for the meeting as usual.
this is because i take a really bad medication where i literally cannot function in the first part of the day but without it i am even worse.
we got there near the end of the talk and it was in my opinion very anoying.
