i wanted to know if anyone knows about the royal commission into the society that is being held in sydney on the 27th of july?

help someone.. i've been trying to find, i think its in hebrews, about how the faithful of old were waiting for something better and it actually says the hope of heaven, but for the life of me i cannot find it.. i know it was discuss here a long time ago, but i just can't find it.. can someone please let me know.. thanks etna.

Newspaper article in Sydney Sunday paper about ex-jw poisoning elder

it was in the sunday telegragh on page 18 "a murder attempt in chuch".

someone that was disfellowshiped has been trying to poison an elder and his family in adelaide.

i certainly don't agree with this at all, but i do understand this man doing something like this.

i was discussing how to prove that the f d s was chosen by christ and a jw said one of the reasons was they did not go to war.

i said so did many other religions, but i just couldn't remember where i read it or saw it, and i just said the "christedephians"(i think that how its spelt).

but couldn't remember the others, can anyone please help me so i can get back to him and tell him?

i have just wacth the new movie "oranges and sunshine" the story of so many children from england being shipped to australia and put into orphanages and suffered terrible child abuse at the hands of many priests, "fathers".

it was very powerful and sad, margaret humphries, the founder of the childs migrant trust started the ball rolling in the mid 1980's and she helps children (now adults) to try and contact their family and find out who they really are.

she had death threats by so called christians in the catholic church and the government, both australian and english have only apoligised only in the last couple of years.. it sort of reminded me of how barbara andeson and bill bowen went out on a limb to help abused children in the "organization" and how they have been punished for all the good work they have done.

Bullying JW's

i've just watched a program on tv about bullying (in australia).

and my wife and i were just commenting on how much the jw's bully so many of their followers, as in shunning disfellowshiped or disassociated ones, even ones that have faded.

their bullying tactics also invove using famiky members not to talk to them.

i haven't been to a meeting for at least 3years.

my wife and i have been married before and we have been married for about 9 months.

since we got married my wife has been going to the meetings to get reinstated (she wants to have a relationship with her kids and with mine as we have both had grandkids now).

Speak Truth

my wife got back from the meeting yesterday, and she couldn't believe the topic for the wt study "speak truth with your neighbor".

anyway they were commenting and someone said that its ok to streach the truth if your talking to "wicked" people.

but in paragraph 7 they said that if an elder asks you personal questions you have to cooperate and the truth so they can carry out their assigned duties.
