I want to release the motherload
by Anony Mous ini have collected and assembled hundreds of letters, documents, publications, personal communications, e-mails from the branch etc.
etc.. my original intent was to make some type of searchable database but my time has been taken over by more important things in life for me.
i don't care about the jw's all that much anymore and who or what gets what information i don't really care.

More lawsuits need to be filed with this decision.
by Momma-Tossed-Me ineveryone who is mentally ready should file a lawsuit or at the very least contact silent lambs..

I have contacted Silentlambs and haven't heard back, for the second time in two years, they just stop corresponding. I guess in our case they don't think it would take, but they could at least let me know.

After we were newly baptized, my mil told me they had done that in the late 50s or early 60s. I told her she must be thinking of a different religion, knowing full well jws would never trust "worldly" people to the point of asking to spend time in their homes. But when I asked the person I studied with, I found out it was true. I guess that was the first major shock after being baptized, finding out about that, and the hypocracy of it, with their regular attitude toward anyone non-jw.

Hello and welcome,
It's good you have your brother to discuss things with. So many who leave cant' find anyone in person to do that with! Good for you on being sober. My bro has been sober for around 23 years now. He went to AA in the early years, too, but life is good to him since he quit and he's done very well all these years.

They say your heart condition is what matters. The only problem with that is if you ever get in to any trouble with the elders, it's their job to determine your heart condition! They'll tell you that isn't so, but it is. When my daughter was trying to get reinstated, the two elders were ready to, but one said "I'm not certain of her heart condition yet." I was stuck in that cult for 30 years of my adult life, from aged 20-50, for most of the reasons you mentioned, and had doubts like you did about the other things. They'll also tell you that if you are having doubts, or cold feet, about baptism, not to worry, because once you are baptized, Jehovah's spirit will work with you even more and your doubts will leave after that. Not true! I highly recommend doing outside research on the religion, try jwfacts.com, wikipedia and go on from there. Me, and I know of one other person, who finally did that with no intention of leaving the religion, learned in just a couple of hours, that we had just spent the majority of our lives in a cult. It's like a gaing or the mafia, if you have family in, because once in, you can't get out without losing your family. Maybe you don't have family in now, but if you marry and have kids, then come to the realization I did once the kids are entrenched, you're going to have a problem. I have heard jw women brag that they have never seen their grandchildren, because the parent of the grandchild was their df'd son or daughter. If you are male, you are most certainly being treated like a superstar because their elders and ministerial servants are dropping like flies, because of the Internet, so many are learning the truth about "the truth." And because elders are left to hang out to dry when legal issues come about.

Hardest most awkward parts of being mentally out but physically in
by BU2B ini am still physically in but am completely out mentally.. i was curious for those who spent some time in the borg while being mentally out or are still in that position, what is the worst, hardest or most awkward parts... for me i intensly dislike attending the meetings however its bearable as i can just let my mind wander, but field service is awful.
i cannot try to bring someone in to a group that i am trying to plot a way out of.
so now i try my best to either spend the day driving around to others fruitless rv's (we have somewhat rural territory) or eating out at an extended breakfast or if door to door cannot be avoided, i try to work alone and not ring bells.

If you are a teenager or young adult still living with parents, or just dont' want to have your entire family shun you for the rest of your life, I think a lot of people would be prone to faking it just for that reason. Some do leave and lose everyone in their life, but that's not easy by any means.
