  A question for those of you who were raised in the cult

  when i was a jw, i often found myself wishing that i would have been a jw from birth.

  that way i would've avoided many of the mistakes i'd made in my teenage years.

  now, after reading so many of your stories i've realized that many of you didn't really believe it when you were young.

  I was raised as a JW but my mom came in as an adult. I think she was looking for something to fill a void in her life and because her grandmother had scared the hell out of her with talk of burning forever. When I was still in the borg I used to think that people that came in as adults truly had "new light." Now I just think they were looking for something.

  Padi Certification

  i went to the local dive shop today to pick up a used shortie wet suit.

  forty bucks--can't beat the price.

  while i was there, the owner told me that i could complete my training course that i started 4 years ago.

  I am getting ready to take the class in May. Megadude, Roo, Navigator and I are going to go diving this summer. I'm a little bit scared but I think I'll be ok. Good luck on your cert. dive.

  5 Yr. Old Daughter Dies But Mom Still Aux. Pioneer

  a recent experience was given at the meeting about how a faithful sister deemed her commitment to auxillary pioneer as being so important, that even after her 5 year old daughter rather suddenly died, she kept her promise to auxillary pioneer, just 2 weeks after the child's death.

  the congregation generally was impressed with this sister's experience and many expressed their admiration for this sister, who has since become a regular pioneer ( for over 20 years).

  That is so tragic, but I can relate . My mom is a regular pioneer and I had food poisoning once. I had been sick for twelve hours straight and couldn't even get out of bed. I was extremely dehydrated and called her up to get a prescription that my doctor called into the pharmacy. She said no problem. She showed up six hours laters and told me it was because she couldn't cancel her bible studies that day. Very warped.

  I already colored all of these with a pen during the meetings in the books...added all kinds of moustaches and stuff to everyone....mom just thought I was taking notes.
