Love him or hate him he's doing what he said he would do why would anyone be suprised. My only concern is how the media has sold its soul for this president for, 8 years the media would jump on ANYTHING Bush said or did now the media is so biased I fear journalism has died in this country.

How do you get built up spiritually
Actually that is a very good question. I am now an Atheist. It is difficult to explain in a way but I truely believe I have never felt spiritual even as a child raised in the Catholic faith I never had a God connection it was just something I was required to do go to church every Sunday. I became a JW as an adult and was chasing a dream in a way but in all my years as a JW I still never felt a God connection. When I realized my dream was just that a dream it was not a big leap to Atheism I don't think I was ever a believer. I did alot of reading after I left and confirmed what I felt all along that in my mind there was no God. My family finds this very perplexing how I could go from one extreme to another. I have always been a deep thinker in a way and my mind would wander to all heights. I would project outward. God came to earth to redeem mankind, died on the cross so we could have life, resurrected to heaven.
Now our galaxy has billions of stars, there are billions of galaxies in an infinite universe and Gods sole attention is on this little planet orbiting this little star in this galaxy. It just didn't make sense to me.

In all my adult life I have worked with worldly people and witnesses. Worldly employers always conducted themselves in proper business conduct while each and everyone of the witnesses employers acted underhanded and dispictable business conduct always out for themselves only and didn't give a crap for anyone else.

Can i file a law suit against the WTS?
by God_Delusion ini had a brief chat with my lawyer last week and discussed religion as i always do with him (he's an atheist).
he asked how the jw's were doing and so i told him that i no longer go and that i to am an athiest (well, not entirely an atheist as i do believe that there may be some other forces out there somewhere and will believe that until it has been proved otherwise).
he was very pleased to hear this.. anyway, i asked him if it would be possible to file a law suit against the wts?.

It depends on what country you live if the US you don't have a chance freedom of religion and speech. Even if you could do you have endless funds to fight a multi year lawsuit the WTS has unlimited funds and an army of lawyers. You can not force people to not shun you. Think about it if people are willing to shun you are these people you really want to associate with including family. I have family that shun me and it is just fine with me I want nothing to do with them.

so many are lurking or new here, so maybe they need to hear why some of you chose the path you chose.. for each of us, the decisions on how to leave the wt are our own.
i fast-faded and don't look over my shoulder worrying about the elders trying to trap me because my wife doesn't spy for them.

I can appreciate those with family on the inside how difficult of a choice it is to make leaving. I had no immediate family in the "truth" just an aunt uncle and some cousins and they lived over 2000 miles from me. I also knew the friends I would be leaving (some for 25 years) were not friends at all and in fact have run into a number of them in public just to be shunned so much for "friends". I would think the best way for those with family is the fade and as mentioned depression is the perfect cover they can do sheparding calls and they are not prepared to handle such a situation and it is easy to fiend. They will ask you if you still believe it is Jehovah's organization give them the blah blah blah yes crap and they will leave till the next CO visit when they have to make an accounting as to those weak in the faith.

I went from being the model JW to DA overnight. I wrote a 2 sentence DA letter no explaination and did not discuss it with the elders just walked away. To this day they do not know why I left.
