just like in another thread a saw, the best way to deal with my jws is not debating or arguing, but instead posing questions for them to answer or not answer.

i want to come up with specific questions relating to the 'global flood' that completely debunk it.

what say you, jw.net?.

* Why did lifespans drop so dramatically after the flood? Shem ended up living another 600 years post-flood, outliving TEN generations of his progeny (lol btw). Its not due to the genetic bottle neck because the two babies born before the flood ended up living short lives like everyone else.

* How were all the animals fed? An elephant consumes 700-1000 pounds of food and water each day, for example.

* How did all the animals fit. If it was only a few basic animal "kinds" than how did hyperevolution give us so much variety in just a few thousand years.

* (from above) Where was the room in the ark for potential converts of Noah's ministry?

* How did all these single pairs of animls manage to avoid injury and plague and predation and other problems to repopulate their entire species?

* What did predators eat after the flood? All the animals were locked up and essential to repopulation.

* What did herbervores eat? Many of these animals require extremely precise diets. How are, for example, pandas finding hundreds of pounds of fresh bamboo each day? The entire eco system is crushed, drowned and destroyed.

* Why is there evidence of cataclysmic world events from times past, HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS OF YEARS AGO, that are crystal clear in geology and fossil evidence but there is literelly ZERO evidence of this event just 4 thousand years ago?

* How did the fish survive? (duh, in the water) -- No! Fish don't just survive in any sort of water. Fresh water fish survive in fresh water. Brackish water fish in brackish water. Fresh water fish in fresh water. Coral reef fish in shallow water. You can't just add miles of water on top of that, mix a toxic stew of waters together and say 'yeah the fish will surive.' You can't suddenly thrust a coral reef thousands of feet below the surface and expect anything (or the reefs themselves) to not be crushed in the process.

* Why do 40,000 years of ice cores and 100,000 years of coral reef build up show no evidence of this (much less survive the immense pressure of being under so much water)?

* Why are you stupid enough to believe a water canopy could exist?

How could Noah collect pairs of all animals and birds from all over the world, without the benefit of modern air transport/travel?

And how could all those animals return to their natural geographic habitat without scattering in random directions, dying and leaving fossils in unexpected places, etc (i.e., why are Kangaroos only found in Australia before and after the flood plus a million similar examples)

if - if you were cornered by elders or family or even an outsider who was curious, what two or three things would you use to point out why you no longer accept "the truthtm"?

(an exercise, not a factual situation).

I start with the global flood. It breaks tons of physical laws, it has no evidence whatsoever, it is demonstrably wrong archaelogically, chronologically, genetically, geologically, etc etc etc.

I also don't like debating the minutia of evolution and the fall of Jerusalem but I DO LIKE showing the WT's articles, including some of their quotes IN-CONTEXT. These and other clear tactics show how deceptive they are being written.

No more 3-day DCs starting in 2013?

apologies if there is another recent thread on this, but i have heard from 4 different people in 3 different geographic areas (including someone who does advance work for the dcs), that beginning in 2013 the three day dc program will be replaced by a second two-day circuit assembly.

some people were passing the info along like a secret, others seemed to think that everyone already knew.. if everyone in j-dub land is already talking about this, how is it not all over this forum??.

anyway, can anyone confirm or deny?.

Orrrrr, maybe the friday is reserved for set-up. hmmm. Just thought of that. They do need a full day to set up stage, sound, etc. They have to train the brothers to properly hold the "please return to your seats" signs.

You think they would rent out a stadium for an extra day so they can leisurely set up? Never in a million years would they (or anyone) do this.

Usually you can set up early anyway becuase there is nothing scheduled. Sometimes things get jammed in (but THursday nights aren't popular so its rare) and you just have to have installation crews ready to go at midnight. Its not that bad, I've done many of those jobs.

how can you think everything on this earth just happened?.

Doesn't the sun have to be the center of the universe [sic] because of gravity? The sun is the origin of a solar system, and so everything spread out from the sun, and gravity keeps it revolving around the sun?

But that is just hand-waving and spouting off about topics we have vague understanding of. What is this gravity you speak of and how do you prove it has any sort of effect on things like planets and stars? I don't think you'd have any idea where to even start. I'm not being critical. I don't think I could *prove* the sun was at the center. I don't know how I would prove it using astronomy (but it is certainly posible, and that would be easiest). You're going to need to be versed in a TON of mathematics and physics to even begin to start proving gravitational theory (and by proving it; I don't even mean from scratch... I just mean understanding and explaining the proofs that have been worked out). So your explanation of why the sun is the center is about equivalent to an evolutionist "proving" evolution by saying "Well it has to be evolution because of genetics. And changes in the code were passed on via natural selection or something?"

I have found it fairly useless to engage in these "prove evolution", "prove abiogenesis", "prove the big bang" type threads. One things I find interesting is to challenge creationsists to prove something we all accept.

Say, "Prove that the sun is the center of the solar system." Yes, do that in a few sentences so that we can all understand and so it is absolutely clear that it is true.

With life being so fragile, and complex, I do wonder about the statistical probability of everything that led to it, and that sustains it, arising by chance.

Would it be one in infinity? In other words zero? (1/∞ = 0). Surely someone has done some calculations of this sort?

Yes, there are a few elementary calculations that take into consideration every event in the history of the universe, this planet's development, and evolution. If you would like one that isn't written in the abstract language of higher education, I believe you can find such calculations in the "Life, How Did it Get here? By Evolution or Creation" book.

I think, for the most part, the quotes are real by rationalization. Someone probably did physically write or say it, but did so specifically and purposefully to fit the point being made in an article being written.

This one isn't all that crazy really. They're just saying, the fact they don't view people as foreigners can be seen in the fact that merging the branches (for whatever unspecified reasons they needed to do it) was not a problems because various nationality JWs accept one another. For all their flaws, tolerance of strangers of any ethniticy is a good quality.
