And I imagine that the way to get over depression is more study, more field service, don't miss any meetings, blah, blah, blah...In other words, it is all your fault "brothers". If you had been doing these things you would not be depressed.

Local Needs tonight
by metaspy inhere is something i thought was a bit weird.. tonights local needs was about depression.
not so much in how we can help those with depression, but about getting over it.. the brother used the scriptures about elijah and the widow to show who was relying on jehovah.. he mentioned how the widow was obviously depressed.
then showed how she should have been like elijah.. as i sat there and listened, i realized his underlying message:.

This is so funny because it is so true! I was born and raised in Cleveland. Have lived in Parma for the last 35 years. We do not have pink flamingos in our yard but we do wear white socks.

Name "UNWRITTEN" Rules That JWs Are Supposed To Follow
by minimus inas with the scribes and pharisees, there are a number of unwritten rules that witnesses are supposed to follow.
here's a couple : "worldly" kids in society depictions are shown quite often wearing their baseball caps backwards.
jehovah's witness youths would not want to imitate that "look".

I don't know if to laugh or cry at this thread.
Actually, it is making me feel kind of sick...like I've "returned to the vomit".
So glad to be out!

YOU "THINK" YOU KNOW.....BUT...YOU DON'T KNOW!!
by Terry inthe door to door work is a sham.. the central activity of the watchtower bible and tract society is not spreading their so-called "messege" about the kingdom of jehovah established in the heavens in 1914. that's a load of propaganda.. the door to door activity is feckless in producing converts.
in fact, it is an immense failure of mammoth proportions!.
but, it is a diversion.

It is great posts like these that keep me coming back for more. I'm sure that there are many like me who don't post too often but really appreciate this board. Thank you and keep up the good work. I am sure that you and other regular posters are helping many to find out the real truth about the "truth".

Doesn't it feel great? This is the first year that I donated to Toys for Tots and dropped a bit in the Salvation Army collection pot. This will be a yearly thing from now on. Just think how much good could be done with all of the money JW's donate to a pipe dream. Not just the money but all the wasted hours in field service could be put to such good use. What a shame. Shame on them and shame on me for having believed that crap for so long.

The turkey is in the oven. The Christmas lights are hung outside. (first time for that) The small Christmas tree is up. The bigger one will go up later. Hubby is watching Harry Potter. Grandchildren will be over soon to celebrate all of the things that their parents missed out on. (I will never forgive myself for that) We have come a long way. I am thankful for my wonderful grandkids and I am glad that our kids don't totally hate us. I know that there is some resentment but that is certainly understandable. I am so glad we are free. Happy Thanksgiving and Happy Freedom to all!
